Sometimes the simple things are what makes the biggest impact. STOP is a simple example.

It helps you to move through the feeling or moment you’re experiencing.

When you get to ‘proceed’ part, there are also many little things you can do to help move forward.

It could be:

🧘‍♂️ Finding nervous system calm with breathing.

🙇 Making decisions led by your body’s muscle messages

📝 Sorting your thoughts with journaling

Whatever you choose, it will be the right thing for you purely because it will help in some way 🫶🏼

Syncing emotions together is how you teach children to learn to do it themselves. They cannot do it themselves unless they are taught, it is not naturally in built in them, they start to learn how to do it right from being a baby 👶

BUT for you to share your calm, you need to be in emotional harmony yourself first!

AND if you pretend to be, it’s highly likely the child will know, they will sense it.

This is why when I work with parents, my main focus is on them understanding their own emotions & how their brain works & how to use the tools available first so they can model them.

….Then they can then share their emotional harmony instead of their emotional stress!

Listened to this podcast whilst cleaning today. Really interesting 🤔

If you’re on the ND spectrum, think you are or know someone that is or might be…especially if you or they are female, I’d recommend a listen….but it’s also interesting if you’re not if you want to understand friends & family 🫶🏼

It has made sense of a lot of things for me especially in childhood, teens & early adulthood & has brought things into my awareness.

Being a late diagnosed woman, all my discoveries about neurodivergence in my later years are helping me to give my younger self lots of compassion & lots of respect 🧡

Feeling ALL the feelings is important.
Along with having safe ways to express them.

THEN, you can use emotional harmony tools to heal your nervous system & be able to stay more regulated moving forward 🧡

There is a misconception the tools to regulate are just used when you’re feeling the feelings you don’t want to feel…that’s suppression…not helpful in the long term.

Using the regulating tools to create your emotional harmony when you are feeling good is the best time to be using them for many reasons.

They are your preventative emotional medicine 🥰

Yes, they can help when in times of stress to help you move through the emotions whilst you feel them, but they are not for removing the feelings before feeling them. But using them before you feel that way can prevent you feeling so stressed or overwhelmed in the first place so you are changing the cycle not just pretending it doesn’t exit.
