πŸ’› STARS Spotlight: TRAINING πŸ’›

From helping parents better understand their child's needs, to supporting young people into employment and equipping professionals with specialist knowledge, training plays an important role in what we do.

Because when people feel informed, they feel empowered🌈

✨ Next week we'll be looking at A = Activities and the inclusive opportunities we create for children, young people and families to connect, play and thrive.

πŸ’› One of the most common questions we hear from families is: "Where do I even start with DLA?" πŸ’›

Applying for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) can feel overwhelming, especially when you're already juggling appointments, assessments and the day-to-day realities of caring for a child with additional needs.

That's why we've created a free DLA Guide to help families understand the process, complete the application with confidence and avoid some of the common pitfalls along the way.

Whether you're applying for the first time or supporting someone else through the process, our guide is here to help families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. 🌈

πŸ’› Sometimes the most powerful way to understand a child is to see the world through their eyes πŸ’›

This week, our team took part in an immersive VR trauma-informed training delivered by Cambridgeshire County Council.

Using virtual reality technology, we experienced life from the perspective of a child growing up in challenging circumstances, helping us gain a deeper understanding of how trauma can affect a child's development, behaviour, relationships and emotional wellbeing.

The training encouraged us to look beyond behaviours and ask an important question:

✨ "What has happened to this child?" rather than "What's wrong with this child?"

We're committed to continually learning and developing so we can provide the best possible support for children, young people and families with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

A huge thank you to Cambridgeshire County Council for delivering such a thought-provoking and impactful session.

πŸ’› Small monthly donations = big impact!πŸ’›

When you give to Little Miracles each month, you're helping families access support they can rely on throughout the year.

Your regular donation helps us plan vital services including counselling, family support, inclusive play sessions, benefits advice, crisis support and safe spaces for children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

Just Β£10 could fund messy play activities for children excluded from mainstream education, while Β£40 a month could pay for an inclusive sports session for a child who uses a wheelchair.

Monthly donations give us the confidence to plan ahead and ensure families know we're here when they need us most.

Every monthly gift, no matter the size, helps us continue providing life-changing support to local families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

πŸ’› Will you join our community of monthly donors and help us be there when families need us most?

Donate today and make a difference all year round: https://littlemiraclescharity.jotform.com/253434087937062

πŸ’› Thank You Friday πŸ’›

Meet Milo's new best friend! 🧸✨

We're delighted to share that one of our families was the lucky winner of the 'Guess the Bear's Name' competition run by Boston Bowl

After correctly guessing that the bear's name was Milo, she took home the cuddly prize along with some fantastic family experiences!

A huge thank you to Boston Bowl for not only organising the competition, but also generously donating a family bowling game, and to Play Towers for donating entry for up to six people

These kinds of experiences mean so much to the families we support, creating opportunities to spend quality time together, make happy memories and simply have fun. Thank you to everyone who helps bring moments like this to our Little Miracles families πŸŒˆπŸ’›

πŸ’› Volunteer Spotlight: Laura πŸ’›

Laura first joined Little Miracles as a volunteer while working as a Tesco delivery driver. After regularly volunteering with our childcare team and completing a Level 2 Autism course, her dedication and passion for supporting children shone through.

Today, Laura is a Qualified Childcare Practitioner at Little Miracles, having achieved a Distinction in her Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification. 🌈

Her journey is a wonderful example of how volunteering can build skills, confidence and open doors to new opportunities.

Thank you, Laura, for everything you do for our families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. πŸ’›

πŸ’› Celebrating our new Hunstanton Branch! πŸ’›

What better way to celebrate than with a fun-filled trip to Farmer Fred's Adventure Play Barn in Heacham? πŸŽ‰

Our families enjoyed an afternoon of climbing, exploring, playing, laughing and making memories together. From the ball pit to the adventure play equipment, there were smiles everywhere you looked!

At Little Miracles, it's about so much more than a day out. These moments give our children and young people the chance to have fun, build confidence, make friends and simply be themselves in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

A huge thank you to Farmer Fred's for helping us celebrate the beginning of this exciting new chapter for our Hunstanton families. 🌈

We're always here to support local families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

πŸ’› STARS Spotlight: SUPPORT πŸ’›

This week we're highlighting the first letter in our STARS model: S for Support.
When families receive a diagnosis, face financial pressures, navigate education systems, experience bereavement, or simply need someone to listen, we're here. Support looks different for every family.

Sometimes it's counselling. Sometimes it's advocacy. Sometimes it's helping a parent access financial support they're entitled to. Sometimes it's simply knowing someone is in your corner.

Whatever the challenge, our aim is to help families of children with disabilities, additional needs and life-limiting conditions feel less alone. 🌈

✨ Next week we'll be looking at T = Training and how we help our families and young people confidence, skills and opportunities. As well as highlighting the training our staff members undergo to support families in the best way we can.
