Can anyone help Claire? If you support this fantastic cause in any way, please email Claire at the address at the bottom of the post 🙏
My name is Claire. I am in the process of setting up an afternoon tea fundraiser and wellbeing event at the Rees Wellbeing Centre, Plympton on the 1st of August where I'm going to be doing an afternoon tea, stalls, information stands and little wellbeing workshops, along with a raffle.
I am at the start of my own Breast Cancer journey, so I thought I'd set up an event as I find that it lifts my mood to give back and keep my brain busy.
I’m hoping to combine the fundraising side of the event with awareness raising, women's wellness and a celebration of survivors and fighters on this journey. I’m looking to pull together women's health, local breast cancer support, wellbeing services, women's small businesses/stalls (especially those run by breast cancer warriors).
I would like to set up wellbeing packs for ladies that attend who are currently fighting or have survived breast cancer and hopefully there will also be enough spare to donate to the Primrose Breast Care Unit in Plymouth for those who may be newly diagnosed, too unwell or unable to attend. I hope to provide essential and supportive information from Breast Cancer support groups and charities and information on local community services, along with items that would be useful at all stages of treatment; being diagnosed, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and finally recovery. I am also putting thank you gifts together for the Breast Care staff team at Derriford Hospital.
Therefore, i’m seeking support from any women's health and wellbeing or local groups, services or businesses, especially those related to women's health needs, who would like to get involved, spread awareness, donate items towards wellbeing packs, donate raffle prizes or sponsor food items/costs or hold a stall/information stand. I am really keen to hear from any ladies who are on their own Breast Cancer journey currently or who are survivors who may have any small businesses or homemade items that would like to hold a stall or provide a short workshop/taster session at the event.
I will also make several male/unisex packs and aim to have specific information available for other genders as breast cancer can affect anyone. I am also open to non-specific groups, services and businesses who have an interest in supporting those on their journey and would like to help.
I'm now at the stage of trying to reach out for support with useful natural/organic and relaxing items or samples for the well-being packs, such as lip balms, hand creams, sun cream and essential oils or food treat items, such as snacks, sweets or chocolate. I'm therefore looking for help with donations if at all possible, especially looking for anything "PINK" that you could help with please? Or if you are able to recommend or share with fellow businesses at all please?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you would be interested in supporting this charity event in any way I would be grateful if you could get in touch via this message please.
Kind regards,
Claire Hambly
