👏 Our colleagues from Newcastle and Aberdeen have raised over £3,800 for the Stroke Association by running the Great North Run this weekend! Congratulations to Fiona and Joel who seem to still have smiles on their faces after all those long miles – thanks in part due to the massages given to triumphant champions?

💜 Super efforts for our partner charity and thank you to each and every one of you who sponsored them. The money goes to providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families. Support by the Stroke Association includes one-to-one and group support, funding vital scientific research into stroke prevention, acute treatment, recovery and long-term care, and campaigning to secure the best care for everyone affected by stroke.

There was a fantastic atmosphere at the and Fiona and Joel powered through, finishing in the top third of all 63,000 runners 😲🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

“What a day! I absolutely loved every mile” Fiona said.

Someone get her and Joel a couple of comfortable chairs for recuperation please…

Have you ever had a volunteering experience where you felt the value as much as the people you’re helping?

Posturite volunteer Fiona Muir found her day with the Grampian Stroke Club this week deeply inspirational:

“I saw joy and a sense of inclusion. I spoke to a lot of the stroke survivors and the family members they said it means a great deal to be able to get out and speak to others who are going through the same challenges. The smiles, laughter and genuine connection between everyone really stood out. It was a lovely reminder of how something as simple as getting on the bikes, enjoying the seafront and feeling included in a group.”

Posturite employees are entitled to one day of paid leave per year to take part in a charitable volunteering activity of their choice. As Fiona prepares to run the Great North Run in aid of the Stroke Association in just a few weeks, this experience has extra meaning.

You might know that the Posturite team loves cycling and here we had trishaw rides for group members on the seafront at Aberdeen Harbourside – they even saw dolphins! Joining the group for the event was Cycling Without Age Scotland - Aberdeen City.

The Grampian Stroke Club meets weekly to support stroke survivors and their carers “for a good old-fashioned blether” as well as physiotherapy sessions.

Volunteering is as much a part of Posturite’s partnership with the Stroke Association as fundraising and education on stroke. Thank you Stroke Association - Scotland for this opportunity!

Happy to support CleanupUK and our local village of Berwick in Sussex with a team litterpick. Photos taken on a cold rainy June day - not in November!

Keeping our local areas cleaner, supporting our community, and showing our commitment to sustainability. Every piece of litter picked is a small but meaningful step toward a healthier environment. 5 big bags in total!

Thank you to Posturite staff Chase Howard, Jo Ruffles, Sharon Wink, Louise Harper, Rosalind Perrin, Michele Barnett and Lotti Simmons for taking part. Also to Wealden District Council in Hailsham for lending us some equipment.

CleanUp UK is a great charity supporting communities to come together and form locally-led litter picking initiatives to tackle the litter problem in their neighbourhood and strengthen their community.

We’re finally allowed to tell you! Former Corrie star Emrhys Cooper is saddling up for Posturite's record-breaking this week! 🚴‍♀️

Big thank you to actor and director Emrhys for his star-studded support for our big charity event in aid of Stroke Association 💜

Emrhys – who played the sinister cult leader Rowan Cunliffe in – joins our 33-strong team riding from London to Sussex on 11 June.

Where else will you have seen Emrhys?
▶️ Desperate Housewives
▶️ Mamma Mia
▶️ Person of Interest

He became one of the Stroke Association's celebrity ambassadors after his mother had a devastating stroke in 2020.

Sussex resident Emrhys said: “I got sober nearly two years ago, and my mother’s stroke was a significant wake-up call for me. Since then, health, fitness, and discipline have become a central part of my recovery and daily life. Just as importantly, recovery has brought a real shift in perspective for me - less focus on myself, and much more on connection, service, and showing up for others.

“My grandmother also passed away from a stroke, so this is a deeply personal cause, one I feel honoured to give my full focus to.”
