Organ Transplant Driver

Emergency Medical Transport is seeking highly reliable, compassionate, and professional drivers to support lifesaving organ and tissue transport services across Yorkshire and wider UK network. You will play a vital part in ensuring safe, timely, and secure delivery of organs, blood products, and medical specimens for NHS and partner hospitals.

This role requires precision, responsibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Every journey makes a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport organs, blood, and medical specimens between hospitals, laboratories, and transplant centres
• Maintain strict time-critical schedules and temperature-controlled handling procedures
• Follow NHS transport protocols and chain-of-custody documentation
• Ensure vehicles are regularly checked, maintained, and ready for deployment
• Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and patient dignity at all times
Requirements
• Full UK Driving Licence (clean licence preferred)
• Previous professional driving or ex police etc
• Strong knowledge of Yorkshire and UK motorway networks
• Ability to work nights, weekends, bank holidays, and on-call shifts
• Excellent time-management and communication skills
• Calm, reliable, and disciplined under pressure
• Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to obtain

We are recruiting self-employed Emergency Response Drivers to join a highly committed team. You'll play a vital role in transporting human organs for transplant, specialist nurses, surgical teams, and patients to hospitals across the UK — helping save lives every single day.

🔄 Shift Pattern
4 Days On / 4 Days Off rota for better work-life balance
(Other rota options can be discussed to suit your needs)

💷 Pay & Structure
Self-employed basis
Paid per loaded mile

🚐 Role Overview
You will be required to collect Blood Samples, Organs for Transplant, and Medical staff and transport them to other hospitals when requested.
There are some unsocial hours and you must responded within an allocated time

No medical qualifications required – full training will be provided

High standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability are essential

✅ Requirements
Full, clean UK driving licence
Minimum age 25 (for insurance purposes)
Previous professional driving experience preferred
Excellent navigation and time management skills
Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check
Based within easy reach of major motorway networks preferred
