A seborrhoeic keratosis (often called an SK or seborrhoeic wart) is an extremely common, harmless, non-cancerous skin growth that often appears with age. They cannot turn into skin cancer, but can resemble other, more serious lesions.

When to See a Doctor: Some very dark or changing seborrhoeic keratoses can look similar to melanomas, it is important to have any new, changing, itching, or bleeding spot evaluated by a GP or dermatologist.

A plasma pen can safely and effectively remove benign seborrheic keratosis (SK) growths. It uses a controlled electrical arc (sublimation) to vaporize the lesion without cutting the skin. However, a dermatologist must confirm the growth is benign before any plasma treatment begins.

How the Treatment works:
Procedure: A local anesthetic is typically applied before the treatment. The plasma pen ionizes the air to create a tiny electrical spark, turning the thickened SK tissue into gas.
