What a lovely afternoon we had at our Pottery Painting Session last weekend🎨💛

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, got creative, and helped make the session such a relaxed and enjoyable event. It was wonderful to see so many people chatting, painting, and trying something new together.

We’d also like to say a special thank you to Lollipops & Ladybirds for hosting us and helping make the day such a success.

Every event like this helps support Sight Cymru’s work with people living with sight loss across South Wales; so thank you for being part of it💛

Tosin, our Awareness Officer, recently visited Springwood Primary School to deliver an engaging session informing pupils about sight loss and the effects it can have on everyday life.

The pupils showed great interest, asked thoughtful questions, and took part enthusiastically as they learned more about how sight loss can impact people in different ways.

A big thank you to everyone at Springwood Primary for the warm welcome and for giving us the opportunity to share this important awareness session💛

We are experimenting with AI. We asked for it to capture what Sight Cymru is all about and what it does and it produced the following video on us!! Excuse the American accent 😅

But do have a listen to it and let us know what you think and also what you can do to support us in making Wales more inclusive for people with sight loss.🙂

Employability Support for Blind and Partially Sighted Jobseekers
A short programme delivered by Radical Recruit and Cloud Crew CIC Radical Recruit

What is this project?
This project supports blind and partially sighted jobseekers to build skills and confidence for roles in Product Management (sometimes called Product Research or Product Design). You will learn how to understand user needs, carry out research, and turn insights into a clear design brief. And you can put your new skills into action by working on a new employability support tool for visually impaired people!

What you will do
• Join a small cohort of 4 blind or partially sighted participants.
• Take part in Product Management / Product Research awareness training with Cloud Crew CIC.
• Do a guided period of user research of existing provision (around 3 weeks) and share your findings.
• Help shape the design of an open-source digital employability support tool that aims to reduce barriers for blind and visually impaired jobseekers.

What you will get
• Wraparound employability support through the Radical Recruit scholarship programme (including CV support, interview preparation, job search support, and in-work mentoring for those who secure employment).
• Access to up to 10 free coaching sessions, plus skills training and career guidance.
• Recognised, evidence-based experience you can talk about in applications and interviews.
• Important: we are not able to pay people for taking part in this project. Our aim is that the skills, support and experience will improve your chances of moving into paid employment or paid contract work.

Who is it for?
• Blind and partially sighted people who are looking for work or exploring a new career direction.
• People interested in roles like Product Manager, Product Researcher or User Research (no need to have done this before).
• People with access to a laptop or desktop with an internet connection who can take part in online sessions and independent tasks with support.

• Employability scholarship: 10 online (workshops such as CV, STAR+L, LinkedIn, and job-board navigation) week commencing 1st June
• Product research: starts week commencing 1 June 2026.
