As Volunteers' Week comes to a bittersweet end, the Sight Cymru Charity Shop says goodbye to two of our longest-serving volunteers, Pat and Hazel💛

Pat and Hazel are two of the most kind, generous, and dedicated people you could ever hope to meet. Not only have they been fantastic volunteers, but they've also been wonderful friends to the charity. Their smiles, laughter, and unwavering support have been a huge part of the shop for many years.

While we're sad to see them go, we're incredibly grateful for everything they've done. Their contribution to Sight Cymru has been immeasurable, and they've left a lasting mark on all of us who have had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside them.

We'd like to wish them both the very best for the future and say a heartfelt thank you for everything they've given to Sight Cymru over the years💛

We've seen a lot of interest in our upcoming Blindfold Relay Challenge, and we're excited to share that we've already raised £1,000 through GiveMatch! 💛🏃‍♀️

This fun and unique event gives participants the chance to take on a relay run with a teammate, swapping between being guided and guiding. Alongside the challenge itself, there'll be a BBQ, activities, and plenty of opportunities to socialise and enjoy the day.

Every donation helps support Sight Cymru's work with people living with sight loss across South Wales, and we're incredibly grateful for the support we've received so far. You can donate to the event here: https://app.givematch.com/fr/YFrBTo6V

Today we're shining our volunteer appreciation spotlight on two wonderful members of the Sight Cymru volunteer team, Stephanie and Jayne

Stephanie has been a dedicated Ring Around volunteer with Sight Cymru for a number of years. Through her kindness, patience, and friendly nature, she provides companionship and comfort to those she supports through regular telephone befriending calls. Her caring approach helps reduce feelings of loneliness and creates meaningful connections with the people she speaks to. We are incredibly grateful for her continued commitment and support💛

We’d also like to recognise our lovely volunteer Jayne, who supports our Talking News service. Jayne generously gives her time, energy, and compassion to help support our service users, and her positive attitude and willingness to help others make a genuine difference.

Thank you both for everything you do for Sight Cymru 💛
