Another great Bushcraft Buddies session today at Cambrian Village Trust.
As well as lots of friendly, social conversations and laughs around the campfire, today we focussed on some campfire cooking.

Starters - mushroom soup cooked in army issue mess tins. 🔥
Mains - spicy beans cooked in army issue mess tins. 🔥
Dessert - peach and rhubarb comport with custard, cooked in the Dutch oven. 🔥

It was delicious 😋, you can’t go wrong when food is cooked around the campfire in a social team setting

If you would like to join in Bushcraft Buddies, learn new outdoor skills and share your own skills with the team, then you are very welcome to come along. Future volunteering opportunities will become available🔥🪓🌳

A great Interlink RCT event this morning at Pontypridd Library with lots of local community groups, celebrating

It was great to link with some organisations I havnt met before and also catch up with some good friends and make plans for some future colaborations.

Thanks for the chats and great to hear all that’s going on at Plastic For Purpose, Tempo Time Credits, Pontypridd Town Council, Eye to Eye Counselling Services, St Luke’s Snack and Chat, and many other great community projects

Great to be back at Woodland Therapy Treherbert with the old gang 🔥

So much good work has been done by the volunteers to keep the group running.

Everyone plays their part, even if u just come for some good company around the campfire.

Looking forward to what the future brings for these award winning sessions, so many people have benefitted from connecting with nature and making new friends in the woods.

Another great getogether today around the campfire at Cambrian Village Trust for us Bushcraft Buddies 🔥🪓🌳

Lots of swapping stories and experiences of the great outdoors, it’s amazing what a chilled vibe there is when like minded people with common interests, chat around a campfire 😂🤟

Today we practiced our knife skills making feather sticks for fire lighting and we also made nettle cordage bracelets, and learnt what amazing plants nettles are. How not to get stung and how to release the anti-histamine that’s inside the nettle if u do get stung.
We also made nettle tea with a hint of lemon balm and rosemary. Thanks to the amazing herbal and veg garden at CVT, your volunteers do a great job. Next week is rhubarb and custard 😂
