Jessica was watching her brothers play football and I asked her if she wanted to play and that was a definite yes in my opinion 🩷

Please keep signing and sharing Jessica’s petition,it will help Jessica and others who are fighting this cruel disease. More awareness, research and funding needs to be put into rare diseases like DRPLA so more trials can be done. I don’t want any other families to ask for help and have medical professionals not know what DRPLA is 🩷

Jessica is happy to be going to Laugharne Castle today and it was nice for her to have a bit of cool air and sea breeze. The heat isn’t always good for people with disabilities so it was nice for Jessica to have a little breather from this heat. Please keep following and sharing Jessica’s DRPLA Journey so I can raise as much awareness as possible and if you can sign and share her petition it would mean the world to us. It’s pinned below 🩷🥵🩷

Same disease, completely different outcomes. Jessica inherited DRPLA from her father who has lived a normal life. He only found out in September 2025 that he had the gene. He’s had no symptoms and the guilt he carries is tremendous. Jessica on the other hand has had the short straw. Symptoms started at the age of 7 (learning disability, epilepsy, seizures worsening as the disease progresses, losing all mobility, no longer able to eat and drink, non verbal and going from underwear to pads, legs shaking and now
Dementia) Her father can live to an old age, unfortunately for Jessica that’s not the case. She might not have the longest life but we can make sure she has the best life. Please keep following and sharing Jessica’s DRPLA Journey and if you can sign and share her petition it would mean the world to us 🩷
