Today is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day, a reminder that a spinal cord injury can happen to anyone, at any time. In the UK, around 4,700 people sustain a spinal cord injury every year, with thousands more families and friends also adapting to life-changing circumstances.

For anyone navigating that journey right now (although I made this video a few years ago) it's still one of the video projects I worked on that makes me super proud. Real life advice from people from all over the world, living with SCI and still doing incredible things💪💥♿️

For me, keeping active matters, physically and mentally, but so does hope, support and perspective. Life can still be rewarding, meaningful and full of possibility. A day to celebrate to my mind.

March is often when motivation dips.

The early-year push to “get healthier” can start to feel unrealistic - especially if your mobility has changed or you’re still figuring out what exercise actually works for your body.

At Adapt To Perform I work with other wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility every day. One thing we hear often is this:

“I want to move more - but I need something realistic I can actually stick with.”

That’s exactly why I created a dedicated Adaptive Yoga playlist on my YouTube channel.

This is it, the final day of our 28-day Wheelchair Fitness Series. What an incredible journey. Your consistency, effort, and commitment over the past four weeks matter, and today is about honoring that work with a focused recovery session.

This session is designed to help your body reset, restore, and reflect, setting you up to keep moving strong beyond this program. As always, it’s accessible for different ability levels, including limited grip or hand function.

Welcome to Day 27 and another strong cardio session focused on building cardiovascular endurance. We’ve progressed once again taking this workout up to 16 minutes as we close in on the end of the series.

Today we’re continuing to build upper-body strength with a resistance band workout, now progressed to 4 sets of 12 reps. Controlled, consistent, and intentional, focus on quality movement and steady effort.

This session is designed for wheelchair users of different ability levels and is easy to modify by adjusting band tension or range of motion. Strength is built through patience, repetition, and showing up day after day.

Day 25 | 28-Day Wheelchair Fitness Series ♿🧘‍♂️

Today’s session focuses on yoga and mobility, progressing into more advanced movements while continuing to build on the previous yoga sessions from earlier in the series.

We’re still slowing things down, but with greater intention challenging balance, flexibility, and body awareness while supporting joint health and recovery. All movements remain fully seated and adaptable, with options to scale based on your ability and range of motion.

Move with control, breathe with purpose, and listen to your body. Movement is medicine. Day 25 starts now.

Today we’re dialing in core strength and control with a seated core workout progressed to 4 sets of 12 reps.

This session is built for wheelchair users of different ability levels and can be adapted for limited grip, hand function, or range of motion. A strong core supports posture, stability, and efficient movement, both in training and everyday life.

We’re turning it up with a 16-minute cardio HIIT session, no equipment needed.
Work 30 seconds max effort, 30 seconds rest, fully seated and fully adaptable.

This workout targets cardiovascular endurance, power, and confidence, pushing your limits at your pace. Scale the intensity as needed, stay intentional with your movement, and focus on strong effort during each work interval.

Longer, more challenging, and still accessible. Give what you can, recover strong, and keep rolling forward. Day 23 starts now.

The final week starts now. We’re returning to our familiar seated dumbbell workout, same movements from earlier in the series, now progressed to 4 sets of 12 reps.

This session is all about strength, control, and finishing strong. Still beginner-friendly, fully adaptable, and built for wheelchair users of all ability levels, including those with limited grip or hand function.

You’ve put in the work. Now it’s time to trust your strength and stay consistent through the final stretch.
