Here's a poem a friend shared

Dear God,
So far today I've done alright.
I haven't gossiped.
I haven't lost my temper.
I haven't lied or cheated.
I haven't been greedy, grumpy,
Nasty, selfish or overindulgent.
I'm thankful for that.

But in a few minutes, Lord,
I'm going to get out of bed;
And from then on, I'm probably
Going to need a lot more help.
Amen

It's not very profound, but it gives a glimpse of an enlightened communication with God.
We recognise our duty to reflect God's qualities - patience, meekness, charity, hopefulness.
We recognise that He can, genuinely, help us to do this.
So we get out of bed and play our small part in the mission of Christ to take away the sins of the world.

I've appended a direct link to a video feed of two events coming up right now. There's a hymn sing on Sunday at 7pm UK time and an Annual Meeting on Monday 8th at 6pm UK time. This includes a celebration of accounts of healing from all over the world.

If you're used to popping in our Reading Room for a chat, you'll find its having a refurb during June (and for quite a bit longer!!). If you can get to our church instead, we're open there the same opening times with the same welcome - so please try to visit us there. Newcomers are welcome too of course! I'll put more information in the comments.

Do join us at the Beach on Sunday 9th July from 12 noon at Branksome Dene Community Room, Pinewood Road. Bring a picnic and swimming stuff if you like. Hot and cold drinks provided.

Our Sunday School and Church Service will be in the Church in Church Road, Ashley Cross at 10.30am as usual.

Sunday School is one hour once a week and provides preparation for a lifetime! Children and young people up to the age of 20 are very welcome.

Fujiko Signs of Tokyo, a Christian Science practitioner and speaker, visited Ashley Cross on Sunday to give an inspiring talk on healing, "God's-eye view of you!".

In her talk, Fujiko speaks from her own experience and explores the relationship between prayer and healing and the universal divine truth that unites us.
