A little summer reflection…
August always brings a natural lull in the usual rhythm of things.
I used to struggle a bit when things quieten down. But I’ve learned to enjoy the space and trust that inevitably it gets filled with other things.
Something I’m noticing is that life doesn’t divide itself into good bits and hard bits.
It’s all mixed in together.
Through August this year there have been moments of uncertainty, change, worry and things to navigate.
And there have also been moments of laughter, connection, music, silliness and being completely in the moment.
Like this one 😂 Me, on my son’s shoulders at the Poole Harbour festival.
Not a perfect summer picture. Just a very joyful, very ridiculous moment in the middle of everything else.
And I think there’s something quite beautiful about that.
Allowing the whole experience of being human.
Not needing everything to be okay before we can enjoy something.
Not needing to have it all figured out.
Not pushing away the difficult stuff, but not letting it swallow up the good stuff either.
Just noticing what’s here, as life keeps moving.
Holding on and letting go.
Safety and uncertainty.
Connection and independence.
September always feels like another little shift in rhythm, and this year it feels like a fresh chapter for me too.
I’ve given Freedom Within a fresh look - a simpler, clearer website that feels much more like me and the work I’m doing now.
So, if you’d like to, take a little look. The link is in my bio.

So here’s to whatever this next season brings. And to allowing ourselves to experience all of it. 🤍
