Residents got creative as they made beautiful fascinators in preparation for our upcoming Ascot Open Day. Using headbands as a base, everyone enjoyed decorating their designs with colourful flowers, delicate butterflies, and elegant feathers. The activity sparked plenty of imagination and conversation, with each resident creating a unique piece to wear on the special day.

It was wonderful to see everyone's creativity shine as they carefully chose their decorations and brought their ideas to life. The finished fascinators looked absolutely fantastic, showcasing each person's individual style and flair. There was a real sense of pride and excitement as residents admired one another’s creations and looked forward to wearing them.

We are all excited to show off these wonderful handmade fascinators during our Ascot Open Day celebrations and can't wait to share the occasion together.

Our residents enjoyed a creative and relaxing painting morning, spending time expressing their artistic talents through a variety of colourful activities. From painting beautiful flower vases and fruit bowls to taking part in mindful colouring, everyone embraced the opportunity to get creative.

The session was filled with concentration, conversation, and plenty of smiles as residents shared their artwork, encouraged one another, and reminisced about their experiences of art lessons at school. It was wonderful to hear residents discussing favourite subjects, teachers, and creative projects from their younger years.

A wonderful morning of creativity, self-expression, reminiscence, and enjoyment for all, with residents taking pride in their achievements and celebrating each other's artistic efforts. 🎨🌼🍎

🌿 Lovely Day Out at Upton Country Park 🌿

Our residents recently enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Upton Country Park, taking in the beautiful floral displays and peaceful surroundings.

The group enjoyed a relaxing cup of tea together, sharing lots of conversation and laughter along the way. It was especially heartwarming to hear residents reminiscing about childhood visits to the park and the special memories connected to those times.

We were delighted to welcome a quartet from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, who performed a beautiful live set in our garden for residents, families, friends, staff, and members of the BSO.

Thankfully, the rain held off and we were able to enjoy the music outdoors in the sunshine. The programme included several pieces specially chosen by our residents, making the afternoon even more special and personal.

It was a wonderful occasion filled with music, smiles, and a real sense of community spirit.

A big thank you to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for helping us create such a memorable afternoon.

☀️ Residents’ Outing to Swanage ☀️

Residents enjoyed a lovely outing to Swanage, making the most of the beautiful weather and stunning scenery. We took a leisurely walk around the park, admiring the colourful flowers, before sitting down to enjoy drinks and snacks while taking in the views.

The group shared fond memories of previous visits to the area, and together we researched some of the flags visible in the distance as well as several interesting statues we came across. A special highlight of the day was spotting a steam train during our journey, which brought back many happy memories for residents.

Some of our residents had a wonderful day out at Poole Park this week, enjoying a relaxing walk around the lake and making the most of the lovely weather before it became too hot. 🦆

Everyone loved seeing the adorable baby swans and ducks swimming so close beside us, bringing lots of smiles, conversation, and happy memories throughout the day. Residents enjoyed spending time together in the peaceful surroundings, taking in the beautiful views across the water, enjoying some fresh air and gentle exercise, and even waving to the little train as it made its way around the park!

It was a truly lovely afternoon filled with laughter, wildlife, and great company. 💙

🇬🇧 To celebrate VE Day here at Marjorie House, we welcomed members of the local church for a wonderful afternoon of music, singing, and reminiscing with our residents.

We sang a variety of songs throughout the afternoon, from wartime favourites that brought back special memories to traditional church hymns enjoyed by everyone.

There were plenty of smiles, lots of singing, and some amazing cakes enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special ❤️

On the 8th of May, we were delighted to welcome Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for another exciting visit with us. 🎶 It was a truly special experience for everyone, filled with joy, laughter, and wonderful music.

Residents and staff had great fun joining in with the performance using shakers, keeping rhythm with the musicians, and even having the opportunity to try their hand at conducting! 🎼✨ It was lovely to see everyone so engaged and enjoying the moment together.

We feel incredibly proud to have this amazing partnership with BSO, bringing live music into our homes and creating such meaningful experiences for all. The beautiful pieces performed took us on an emotional journey, making us smile, reflect, and feel uplifted. 💛

A huge thank you to BSO for another memorable visit, we are already looking forward to the next one! 🎻🎵

We were delighted to welcome the AFC Bournemouth Community Team to our garden recently!

With the sunshine on our side, residents came together for an afternoon filled with fun activities, friendly competition, and great teamwork. There was plenty of laughter throughout, making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.

It was our first time hosting the team in the garden this year, and it’s safe to say a wonderful time was had by all. We look forward to welcoming them back again soon!
