WHY DOES YOUR SKIN SOMETIMES GO RED AFTER A MASSAGE? 👀💆🏾‍♀️

That temporary redness is called erythema and it can happen during or after massage as blood flow to the area increases and the skin responds to pressure, warmth and movement.

It’s usually completely temporary and should gradually settle after your treatment. 🩷

A little redness is one thing — painful, very hot, swollen, bruised or irritated skin that doesn’t settle is different and should always be mentioned.

So if you leave your massage looking a little pink in places… don’t panic ✨
