To celebrate Carers Week (8β14 June) and Portsmouth 100, the Portsmouth Carers Centre are inviting local businesses, organisations, groups and teams to pledge their support for unpaid carers π
At Aster, we pledge to:
βRecognise, support and value carers by listening to what matters most to them, helping them access the right support, and working together to make Portsmouth a more carer-friendly community.β
We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Portsmouth Carers Centre for the incredible work they do every day to support unpaid carers across our community. π
Local businesses and services play an important role in building carer friendly communities by making everyday places more understanding, flexible, and accessible for people with caring responsibilities. Through staff awareness, flexible service delivery, inclusive policies, and visible support for carers, they can reduce practical barriers and create welcoming environments where carers feel recognised and respected.
By working in partnership with local carersβ support organisations and community services, local businesses and services can help to raise awareness, strengthen local networks, and contribute to communities where carers are supported to participate fully in daily life.
Weβre proud to share the pledge from Aster Care:
π£ βRecognise, support, and value carers by listening to what matters to them, helping them find the right support, and working together to make Portsmouth a more carer-friendly community.β
π‘ Small actions really do make a big difference.
