Behind the scenes this summer ☀️
It’s been a really busy year — not just at DB HQ, but with farm life x 2, family life, holiday cottage changeovers and all the other projects and responsibilities Matt and I seem to squeeze in between.
Looking back through my camera roll over the last few weeks though, there are so many little moments that I’m really grateful for.
The view from our new farm. A little veggie harvest from the garden — definitely not a bounty year, but gratefully received! Cattle looking incredibly well despite such a dry summer, and now, after the recent rain, the welcome sight of fresh green shoots appearing across the fields 🌱
Willows Cottage Calbourne has been in full summer swing too, so there have been plenty of changeovers squeezed into the mix.
And amongst it all, GCSE results arrived. The next steps are now confirmed and I’m incredibly proud of our eldest — and equally proud of everything the younger two have achieved and thrown themselves into this year too.
It can sometimes feel as though you’re constantly juggling, moving from one thing to the next, and still wondering whether you’ve actually done 'enough'.
Then you scroll back through your camera roll and realise just how much life has happened in those weeks.
Lots of hard work, lots of change, lots of products made, plenty of dusty boots and probably not enough hours in the day — but so much to be grateful for.
And next week, as summer begins to gently shift, we’ll start bringing a little more cosiness back into our Ryde flagship store. 🍂
