Let’s check in

I wonder, do you find yourself saying
“I’m fine”
while quietly running on empty?

I’ve created a gentle two-minute Inner Weather Check-In for anyone who has been feeling stressed, overwhelmed, stuck in their head or simply a bit disconnected from themselves.

There are no right or wrong answers, no complicated forms and no pressure to share your email. It’s just a simple way to pause and notice how things have been feeling lately.

It isn’t a diagnosis, and it won’t tell you something is “wrong” with you. It may simply help you notice whether your current ways of coping are still working for you.

Take the check-in here:

You might get a useful idea to try straight away. And if your result feels familiar, it may give you something helpful to reflect on.

This morning, nature gave me a little therapy session. 🐿️🪶🌿

I watched a squirrel leap from a steady branch onto one considerably lower… and considerably wobblier.

It didn’t catastrophise.

“What if I fall?”
“What if it breaks?”
“Maybe I’ll stay here where it’s safe.”

Nope. It looked, trusted its body… and went for it.

Meanwhile, a little further along the lake, a heron stood completely still.

No rushing. No reacting. Just observing.

And it got me thinking about resilience.

Sometimes we need squirrel energy: take the leap, trust yourself and move despite uncertainty.

Sometimes we need heron energy: pause, observe and let the ripples settle.

Healing isn’t about becoming fearless. It’s about trusting yourself enough that fear doesn’t get to make every decision.

Sometimes you leap. Sometimes you wait.

Perhaps resilience is knowing which one you need right now. 💚

So… what do you need more of today?

🐿️ The leap
🪶 The stillness

I have some exciting news to share! 💙🩷

I’ve teamed up with my wonderful friend and fellow therapist, Susana, to help bring her vision for Ravers Therapy into the world, and we are officially live! 🥳

👉 Check out the new website: https://raverstherapy.co.uk/

Susana created Ravers Therapy because she saw a real need for mental health support delivered by people within the culture.

Together, we’re offering online counselling and psychotherapy tailored specifically for the raving community.

It’s a safe, non-judgemental space to process mental health, relationships, substance use, comedowns, and life beyond the music—without needing to explain the scene first.

I’m so happy to be collaborating with Susana on this, and if you or someone in your rave family could use a supportive ear, please pass this along or share this post. Let’s look out for each other! 💜

For when life beyond the dancefloor feels a little harder. 💙💜🩷

Have you ever found yourself reacting more strongly than a situation seems to warrant?
Perhaps a certain tone of voice, a difficult conversation, or even silence leaves you feeling anxious, hurt, or on edge.

Often, these reactions aren't about what's happening in the present - they're emotional echoes from experiences that taught your nervous system how to stay safe.

In my latest blog, I explore:
💙 Why your triggers make sense
💙 How childhood experiences shape the way we communicate and respond to others
💙 Why healing isn't about becoming "less sensitive" but about helping your nervous system feel safe
💙 Gentle steps towards rewiring old patterns with compassion, not criticism

If you've ever wondered why you react the way you do, I hope this offers understanding, reassurance, and hope.

I'd love to hear what resonates with you.

✨ Why Communication Feels Hard When You Grew Up Tiptoeing Around Chaos

Ever find yourself apologising mid‑sentence or shrinking when emotions rise?
There's nothing wrong with you - you are remembering how your body learned to survive.

This blog unpacks why communication feels unsafe for so many adults and how healing begins when we stop blaming ourselves and start understanding our nervous system.

In the work I do, I’m constantly reminded that our emotional world is never still. Feelings arrive like visitors - sometimes welcome, sometimes inconvenient, sometimes overwhelming - but always carrying information about what needs attention, soothing, or understanding.

Rumi’s “Guest House” offers a beautiful metaphor for this inner landscape. Instead of resisting what shows up, we can learn to meet each emotion with curiosity.
Not to indulge it.
Not to fight it.
But to listen to what it’s trying to tell us.

When we stop treating our emotions as intruders and start seeing them as messengers, something shifts.
The nervous system softens.
The body exhales.
And healing becomes possible.

As you move through your week, notice who’s knocking at your internal door.
What feeling is asking to be acknowledged today?
And what might it be guiding you toward?

Ever notice how certain situations trigger you - even when you know better?
That moment your chest tightens, your voice changes, or you shrink inside… and you wonder, “Why am I reacting like this?”

It’s rarely about the present.
It’s often an echo - a nervous system memory from a time you didn’t feel safe, seen or understood.

Our behaviours, beliefs and emotions are shaped by the stories our body still remembers.
And healing isn’t about “fixing” those reactions — it’s about gently understanding where they came from.

This week’s blog explores how old wounds quietly shape the way we think, feel and respond today - and how awareness can begin to loosen their grip.

If you’re starting the week feeling tender, reflective or just curious about your patterns… this one’s for you. 💛

If you’ve ever felt like you’re performing your life rather than living it - this is for you.
Burnout isn’t just about doing too much.
It’s about what your body learned to do to stay safe.
Healing begins when you stop fighting yourself and start listening to what your exhaustion is trying to say.

You can look like you have it all together while quietly falling apart inside. This isn’t weakness - it’s survival.

When you start working with the deeper layers of stress and emotion, something shifts.
You stop bracing.
You start breathing.
You begin to feel like you again.
