Another heatwave is upon us, and as temperatures rise it might be tempting to cool off in a lake, river, canal, reservoir or the ocean - but it's not worth your life.

Remember that the water can be colder than you expect, the current stronger than it looks, and that the tides can come in from different directions to cut you off from the shore.
