Discovering emotional connection beneath political disagreement

David shares how his understanding of impermanence developed through years of meditation and study, including time spent at a monastery in India with a Burmese monk. He describes his practice of using rocks as reminders of impermanence, suffering and connection, and how these ideas became part of his artistic work.

They explore the origins of Triptych Dialogue, including an encounter with a medieval triptych at the Victoria and Albert Museum. David explains how the missing parts of the artwork prompted him to think about what is absent from our conversations, and how this led him to begin speaking with strangers about politics.

David describes his approach to these encounters, asking three questions, listening without debating and looking for the emotional common ground beneath political differences. He explains how these short conversations can transform both participants, and how his own anger and sense of division have changed through the practice.

Catherine Llewellyn welcomes David Collura to explore what it means to risk being original when our spiritual interests and personal path do not fit easily with other people's expectations.

David has taught spirituality, energy and non ordinary states of awareness for more than 15 years. He previously taught with the International Academy of Consciousness and now works with Mosaic Wellness and Education, a nonprofit he co founded with his wife Ashley and three colleagues. He is also the author of Multidimensional Lens: Practical Ideas for Spiritual Co Creation.

They explore authenticity, the risk of not being understood, practical energy work and energetic hygiene, and developing a more creative dialogue with life. David's message: do not discount any part of yourself or your experience. Bring all of yourself into the journey.

Recognising sensitivity and emotional intensity as a potential strength

Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Nico Verresen, former Muay Thai champion, psychologist and founder of Burnout Boxing Experience. Nico explores his lifelong relationship with intensity and how a passion that took him to the top of combat sports eventually led him to a very different mission: helping people embrace intensity rather than automatically seeing stress as something harmful.

After years of fighting, Nico's body finally forced him to stop when severe eye injuries ended his competitive career. The experience helped him recognise that intensity itself wasn't the problem—it was how we related to it. He now works with people to understand their nervous systems, embrace challenging experiences and develop the presence to choose how they respond.

They explore stress as an adaptive system, the difference between stress and suffering, why our beliefs about stress can influence how we experience it, and how challenge can become the “spice” that makes life more alive. Nico also shares how his relationship with intimacy and intensity has evolved, and why emotions such as stress, anger and anxiety can be understood as messages rather than problems to suppress.
