Honey Bees have ‘undertakers’ - bees whose job it is to remove any dead bees from the hive. This is to prevent disease. Some individuals perform a last altruistic act and take themselves out of the colony to die therefore removing the burden on their sisters.

🌙🐝 Under the stars, even the tiniest bee carries a beautiful purpose. Resting softly on a flower, she reminds us that nature’s smallest creatures bring the greatest gifts to our world. Protect bees, cherish flowers, and let every garden bloom with life, hope, and gratitude. 💜✨🌼

I have to down size my apiary for health reasons. So I have colonies of bees for sale. Various states of development. Mainly 12 frames in National BB Selling bees on frames and purchaser’s replace the frames ( in case my health improves😎)

I also have two Langstroth hives for sale. This will be the whole deep boxes full of bees and no replacements frames as I move to Nationals I’m selling all the Langstroth associated gear.

Honey bees are essential because they are around early in the season when most other pollinators are not about. The wood ash from our log burner helps the trees to flower in abundance with the inherent potash sprinkled around the bases.

Up early 0420 this morning to move this primary swarm into the apiary in position before the sun came up or the bees would orient themselves to this position 😎- this fascinating and rewarding hobby is full-on during Swarm season. ❤️
