Did you know, as humans, we're often wired to avoid discomfort?

Sometimes our intuition may be telling us that something doesn't feel right; A relationship, a job, a friendship, a situation, but we ignore it, simply because listening to that inner voice may mean facing a difficult conversation, making a big change, or stepping into the unknown.

It can feel easier to stay where we are than to face the discomfort that change might bring.

But intuition is important. It's an internal signal designed to guide us. Based on past experiences, knowledge, values and subtle cues that we may not yet have consciously processed.

The more we learn to listen to ourselves, the easier it becomes to trust our own judgement and make choices that are aligned with who we are and what we truly need. So when something consistently doesn't sit right with you, it's worth paying attention.

Sometimes the answer isn't found in overthinking, it's found in paying attention to how we really feel.

The next time you're faced with a big decision, ask yourself: What do I already know, but perhaps don't want to admit? 💚

I hope you found this useful today. For regular advice, tips and general positivity, please like or follow my page 👍

I'm currently reading - The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins, and one of the simplest yet most powerful concepts in the book is this: Let them!

If people want to judge you, let them. If they disagree with your choices, let them. If they don't invite you, support you, or understand you, let them.

The idea isn't about giving up or not caring. It's about recognising what is and isn't within your control, and choosing not to waste your energy trying to manage other people's thoughts, feelings or behaviour.

As a therapist, I can see why this concept resonates with so many people. So much anxiety, stress and frustration can come from trying to control things we simply can't control. When we stop focusing on what others are doing and start focusing on our own actions, boundaries and wellbeing, life often feels much lighter.

Definitely a simple but powerful tool that's worth reflecting on 💛

Have you read it? I'd love to hear your thoughts...

I’ve had so many conversations recently about perimenopause and menopause… and honestly, I’m shocked by how many women are struggling quietly with really challenging symptoms.

The anxiety, overwhelm, poor sleep, brain fog, low mood, loss of confidence… and yet, as women, we so often just soldier on. Showing up for everyone else, keeping life moving and doing our best to keep our heads above water.

There is so much expected of women… and navigating huge hormonal, physical and emotional changes on top of everything else can feel incredibly tough.

If this is you… please don’t struggle in silence. There is support out there. For me personally, HRT has been a game changer and I’m so glad I did my research and contacted my doctor.

The physical symptoms are one side of it… but the mental and emotional impact can be just as significant. For anyone needing some extra support with anxiety, confidence, overwhelm or simply feeling more like themselves again… I’m always here to help.

To the women who need a reminder that they matter too… this is it 💚

Keep Smiling, Steph 😊✨

People often think social confidence means being loud, outgoing or never feeling awkward.

But real social confidence usually looks much quieter than that....

✨It’s being able to walk into a room without spending the next few hours replaying everything you said.

✨It’s allowing yourself to speak without needing every word to be perfect.

✨It’s being okay with pauses… with not always knowing what to say… with being yourself without constantly monitoring how you’re coming across.

✨It’s realising that confidence isn’t the absence of nerves, it’s learning that you can handle them.

✨And perhaps most importantly… social confidence grows when you stop making your worth dependent on other people’s opinions.

Because many people spend years trying to avoid judgement, rejection or embarrassment… believing that if we can just say the right thing, act the right way or never make mistakes, we’ll finally feel confident.

But actually, confidence grows through experience, through speaking even when your voice feels small, through discovering that awkward moments don’t define you.

Through noticing that people aren’t analysing you nearly as much as your anxious mind suggests.

And through learning, slowly, that being authentic feels a lot lighter than trying to get everything “right”.

Social confidence isn’t about becoming a different person, It’s about learning to become comfortable just by being yourself.

One conversation… one small risk… one moment of self-trust at a time 💚

I hope you found this helpful today,

Steph ✨💚

Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week, and ironically, one of the best things I did for my own mental wellbeing was step away from social media for a few days.

No posting. No constantly checking notifications. Just more time focusing on family, being present, slowing things down a little and appreciating the moments that are easy to miss when life gets too busy.

I think sometimes we forget that mental health isn’t only about managing difficult moments, it’s also about creating space to rest, reconnect and recharge before we reach burnout.

We live in a world where people often feel pressure to always be available, productive, switched on or “doing enough”, but taking a step back can be incredibly important too.

As a therapist, I spend a lot of time encouraging others to look after themselves, and I think it’s important we all remember that self-care can look different for everyone. Sometimes it’s talking things through. Sometimes it’s setting boundaries. Sometimes it’s simply putting the phone down and being fully present with the people around you.

Mental health matters every week, and if you would like some extra help or support, I would love to hear from you.

There’s something really special about watching someone slowly grow into a calmer, more confident version of themselves.

To go from feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stuck in survival mode… to feeling calmer, more confident and able to cope with life differently… that’s a huge achievement, and one I'm extremely proud to have been apart of.

If you would like to make positive, lasting change, I would love to hear from you.

Hi everyone, I'm Steph 👋

I thought I’d introduce myself properly for those who may not know me yet.
I’m a local therapist specialising in Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and EMDR therapy, and over the years I’ve helped hundreds of people overcome anxiety, overthinking, stress, low confidence, trauma, fears, habits and emotional struggles.

Having the right support and space to work through things can create huge transformation, not just in how someone feels, but in how they experience everyday life, relationships, confidence and their future.

I aim to offer a calm, down-to-earth and supportive approach where people can feel comfortable being themselves, without judgement or pressure.

Whether you're struggling with something specific or just feeling stuck, overwhelmed or mentally exhausted, change is possible, often in positive and more relaxing ways than you might expect.

Thanks for reading, and sending a little reminder today to be kind to yourself too 💚

Keep Smiling,
Steph ✨☺️

A gentle shift to try today…

Notice how much you’re focusing on what’s missing… and see if you can bring a bit more attention to what’s already going well.

Not in a forced, “everything’s amazing” way, but just a quiet awareness of the good that’s already there.

– things that felt easier
– moments that went smoothly
– something you handled better than you used to

It’s a small shift, but it can change how your whole day feels ✨

Keep Smiling, Steph 😊✨
