🎄 Christmas Day at The Hive 🎄

Christmas can feel like a very long day when you’re spending it on your own, so this year we’re opening The Hive for people who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day.

⚠️ Spaces must be booked in advance! We unfortunately cannot take bookings for people who turn up on the day ⚠️

Come and join us for a relaxed, friendly afternoon with good food, good company and no pressure. 💛

You can arrive from 11am for a welcome drink, with a traditional 2-course Christmas lunch served at 12.15pm. Afterwards, stay for a board game, a hot drink, a chat, or simply enjoy being around other people. The Hive will close at 3pm.

📍 The Hive Community Centre, Bath Road, Peasedown St John, BA2 8DH

This is especially for people who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day on their own. You don’t need to know anyone already — if you’d like some company on Christmas Day, you’ll be very welcome.

❤️ The whole day is completely FREE of charge! Thanks to some awesome fundraising and wonderful donors and volunteers!

Eve has worked for Safe & Sound Homecare Services for almost 30 years.

I have worked for Safe & Sound Homecare Services Ltd for almost 30 years, after leaving full time eduction, and I am very proud to have been part of the company for so long. I love being part of a family-run business where we know our clients and the local community, and where there is a strong sense of teamwork and support.
Caring for our clients is very important to me because we are not just providing care; we build trusting relationships and make a genuine difference to people's lives. I value the connections we have with the people we support and feel privileged to be able to care for them in their own homes.

Meet Jo, one of our care & support workers. Jo has been with us for 6 years ❤️

Hello I’m Jo and I had a great upbringing with my Mum, Dad, Brother and Sister. Unfortunately my sister was disabled and I supported my family when I could with her.
I always wanted to look into care work but having the children the hours didn’t suit. I found a job in Tesco which is where I still work, along side my caring role.
I waited until my youngest was old enough to go off to Secondary School alone and looked into a Homecare job. I worked with one company for 18 months, left there and have now worked for Safe and Sound for just over six years.
Being a carer is an amazing role and seeing clients smile when I arrive is one of the best achievements I feel I have made. I definitely know I am in the right role as a care and support worker and plan to carry it on until I retire.
I know I have made a difference to their lives when I leave them. I sometimes take my work home with me but that is what caring is all about.
Safe and Sound are a great company to work for and are always there at the end of the phone for clients and also for us.
