l of this is done through a program of activities that range from cookery and drama, to football and horticulture; in addition to providing supported housing and building skills and experience for employment. This is a local charity that does vital work which really makes a difference to peoples lives.

Last week His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, Mr Mohammed Saddiq hosted a Lieutenancy Garden Party at Marston House in Frome, and one of our members and her support were invited to attend.

The Buckingham Palace-style garden party was a celebration of volunteering in honour of the incredible people who give up their time across the county.

Guests enjoyed tea, sandwiches and cakes in the glorious grounds and two volunteers were officially awarded BEMs for services to the community.

There was also a chance to meet Ali Vowles from the BBC!

🎳 A recent bowling trip was a huge hit with one of our SWALLOW members, who was enjoying herself so much she asked for photos to be taken throughout the game!

Although staff came out on top this time, she didn't let that spoil the fun. She had an amazing time, and can't wait for the next bowling trip.

Here at SWALLOW we tailor the support we offer to each individual and what they want to try out, practice or become an expert in. We provide opportunities for our members to explore interests and develop new skills.

During a recent 121 support session this SWALLOW member chose to visit the in Bath with her support worker.

They listened to the history of Jane Austen, watched a film of her life in Bath, and dressed up in Victorian clothing. They also wrote messages to each other using a feather pen and ink. They had a fabulous day!

SWALLOW Charity aims to provide opportunities for local people with learning disabilities to live life their way, explore their passions and interests and access the same opportunities as anyone else.

Our support staff love supporting SWALLOW members to explore local attractions and places of interest.
