New Spring Vista is an inclusive outdoor learning and alternative curriculum provision supporting children in our community and beyond. Licence: LN/009414757

We nurture wellbeing, growth and learning through connections with horses and nature. New Spring Vista is a new community Interest Company (CIC) set up to support our children, young people and vulnerable adults on their journey of personal growth, self confidence, rediscovery and acceptance of themselves. This is achieved using the natural environment, alongside the support of the horses in Equine Facilitated Learning and other animals.

🌿🐴 INTRODUCING THE VISTA LEAF TRAIL! 🎨🌈

Does your child love ponies, making things and discovering something new?

Our exciting new pilot at New Spring Vista brings together pony time, creativity, friendship and adventure for children aged 7–12!

🐴 MEET THE PONIES
Learn about pony care, enjoy brushing and practise putting on a headcollar with close adult guidance. Join in playful pony team games, with opportunities for cooperation, friendship and laughter!

🎨 CREATE YOUR OWN HORSE
Explore wire, cotton wool and clay to design and shape a horse sculpture, developing your ideas over the sessions. Creative activities are led by Miranda, a qualified teacher who specialised in Art and Design at university, supported by an assistant.

🌈 COLLECT THE SEVEN VISTA LEAVES
Our coloured badges celebrate safety, care, confidence, connection, communication, problem-solving and growth.

Through creative projects and pony activities linked to our specialist Seven Zones framework, children can progress through 🌱 Bud → 🍃 Leaf → 🌸 Bloom at their own pace.

Each child will have a personal progress map showing where they are, what they have achieved and what they can explore next. Every small step counts—and they’re already on their way!

🌿 PAY AS YOU GO
• £25 per child for their introductory session
• £35 per child for subsequent sessions
• Maximum four children per group
• Minimum three children booked for a session to run
• Places subject to availability

It’s 8 o’clock. You ask your child to put on their shoes—and suddenly the whole morning begins to unravel.

They’re upset. You’re watching the clock. Something that appears so simple has become completely overwhelming.

Now imagine that same child standing quietly beside Senara.

Senara is one of our lead equine partners—and a very special horse. Not every horse has her natural sensitivity to the smallest changes in a child’s movement, energy and intention.

There is no rush and no pressure to explain. The child takes a breath, adjusts their body and makes one small, purposeful movement. Senara notices—and responds.

Through our ground-based Seven Zones approach, children explore connection, movement, boundaries and communication with the ponies. Gradually, they begin to recognise their own influence and discover:

💜 Have you ever met a horse who made you feel braver simply by standing beside her?

Meet Senara—our beautiful Appaloosa and my very special spotty horse. 🐴

Her striking coat may be the first thing people notice, but Senara offers children something far more meaningful: an opportunity to build trust, confidence and connection alongside a much larger partner.

Through gentle, ground-based activities, children learn to notice their own movement, energy and body language—and discover that even a small, calm action can create a response. For a child who doubts themselves, that moment can feel enormous.

Senara helps show our learners that they can communicate, make choices and take up their space.

Does your child find it easier to connect with animals than with people?

Meet Mabel—our tiny Shetland pony with an extraordinary ability to help children feel safe, seen and accepted.

But our sessions are about much more than brushing a pony.

Through our unique, ground-based Seven Zones approach, children interact and move with Mabel—exploring pace, space, body language, boundaries, communication and problem-solving.

Because Mabel responds honestly and without judgement, children begin to notice how their own feelings, movements and choices affect the connection between them. With gentle support from Miranda, a qualified teacher and equine facilitator, these experiences build confidence, self-awareness, emotional regulation and resilience.

There is no riding and no pressure—just a very special way for children to connect with themselves through a pony. 🌿

💜 Have you noticed your child becoming more unsettled since returning to school?

During my years as a primary teacher, I saw how deeply those back-to-school worries could affect children. Sometimes they need a calm space away from everyday pressures to reset, reconnect and begin rebuilding their confidence.

🌿 Celebrating the Little Wins... Because They're Often the Biggest 🌿
As we begin preparing for Confidence Conquerors Cycle 2, I've found myself reflecting on the incredible journeys our participants have already taken.

Over the past few weeks we've celebrated so many moments that might seem small to others, but here at New Spring Vista they're the moments that matter most.

💚 A child finding the confidence to guide their pony partner with quiet leadership and trust.

💚 A young person discovering that communication isn't always about words, but about presence, patience and connection.

💚 Gentle moments in the summer sunshine, where children explored mark-making and meaningful symbols alongside the ponies, discovering that the messages we carry—and the words we choose—have power.

💚 Children recognising their own "superpowers"—those strengths that help them feel calm, brave, resilient and capable when life feels overwhelming.

💚 Big smiles.
💚 Big tries.
💚 Big breakthroughs.

At New Spring Vista we celebrate progress, not perfection.
Sometimes the biggest achievement isn't completing an activity.

Sometimes it's taking that first step.

Sometimes it's asking for help.

Sometimes it's believing, even just for a moment...

"I can do this."

Watching these relationships grow between our participants and their pony partners continues to remind me why this work is so special. The ponies never judge. They simply meet each person where they are and quietly walk alongside them as confidence begins to grow.

Every child arrives with their own story. Watching them discover just how capable they already are is one of the greatest privileges of what we do. We can't wait to see what new journeys Cycle 2 will bring. 💚🐴

That's absolutely fine! You don't need any previous horse or pony experience. We'll teach you everything you need to know and support you every step of the way.

🕒 "I can't commit every week."

Life is busy—we completely understand that. We try to be as flexible as possible, so whether you can offer a few hours every week or just now and then, we'd still love to hear from you.

Maybe you're looking to reconnect with nature, meet like-minded people, learn new skills, build confidence, spend time outdoors or simply be part of something that makes a positive difference.

Sometimes, the person who benefits most from volunteering is the volunteer themselves.

Whatever your reason, there's a place for you here.

And if your talents lie beyond the yard—perhaps in gardening, DIY, photography, administration, social media or something completely different—we'd love to hear from you too. Every skill helps New Spring Vista grow.

Volunteers must be aged 18 or over due to the nature of our environment and health and safety requirements.
