This day, 17th June, in 2003 changed my life
Though I didnāt realise it at the time
In one day I sat all three major A Level exams
It was high stress, high intensity, high pressure
I wanted it over before it had begun
It felt impossible but there was only one way and that was to go through it
Not all at once
One exam at a time - one question at a time
Looking back the biggest lesson that day wasnāt about exams. It was about me
It was learning to pause and to regulate
My brain wanted to look at all of it at once, worry about all of it
And thatās exactly what happens when we want to declutter
We see all of it. Every pile, cupboard & drawer
And we freeze
The answer isnāt to push harder but to
Pause
Regulate
Take one step at a time
You donāt need to do it all right now
If youāre feeling stuck or overwhelmed
Pause first
Then declutter
As I did with my exams, take one step at a time
And if you need support - reach out, Iām here!
