We'd like to say a huge thank you to our fundraiser Simon for organising the fantastic Music for MS gig recently. We're thrilled to let you know that it raised a wonderful £1,265 for Berkshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre ! Thank you to everyone who came along for your generosity. We are so grateful to Simon for doing this for us.

Thank you also to Purple Turtle for being such great hosts and for covering the expenses to maximise the profits made. We hope to work with you again in the future.

One of our supporters has kindly got a wheelchair to give away in return for a donation to Berkshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre

The wheelchair is an Invacare Rea Azalea Tilt in Space wheelchair and comes together with an Invacare Matrx Flo-tech Solution pressure relief cushion. It is in excellent condition.

We'd like to share a few more photos and memories of Friday's summer garden party. It really was a special afternoon of food, fizz, speeches, catching up and overall, thanking and celebrating our fantastic volunteers. We hope everyone had a lovely time.

Special thanks goes to Starbucks UK in Calcot for providing free coffee and to local firm Warings Bakery for a voucher towards the food. We really appreciate your support.

Last Friday, we celebrated all our amazing volunteers at a summer garden party here at the Centre.

The event was attended by over 60 people including volunteers and staff and we were joined by the Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire Sue Roberts from The Berkshire Lieutenancy, The Mayor of Reading Cllr Paul Gittings, and our patrons, Sir John Madejski and Martin Salter.

The event also celebrated the fact that the charity was awarded the King's Award for Voluntary Service last year.

Thank you to everyone who attended. It was wonderful to celebrate with you all.

Thursday's volunteer story for Volunteers' Week is from our volunteer receptionist Carol.

Carol says, "I became a volunteer at BMSTC because helping others has always been important to me. I used to work as a nurse, so caring for people is something very close to my heart...I absolutely love talking to all the members and finding out about their lives and interests. I like to feel that I can make some small difference by helping in any way I can.. I love being part of a caring team and feel a very valued member. Working at the Centre has increased my confidence and resilience and given me a strong sense of purpose."
