No breaking-news desk this time… just a friendly reminder πŸ˜‚

Something new is happening at your local pharmacy! πŸ’™

From Saturday 5th September, Day Lewis Pharmacy in Lower Earley will be open every Saturday from 9am-1pm.

And to answer one of the most common questions we’ve had - YES! Yasser will be covering most Saturdays (annual leave permitting πŸ˜‚).

More convenient. More accessible. More time for you.

Whether you need a prescription, healthcare advice, or simply want to meet the team behind the pharmacy, our doors will be open.

And because our first Saturday deserves a proper welcome, the team will be there with complimentary tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits waiting for you. β˜•πŸ°

You do not need to be an existing patient either. Just pop in, say hello and see what we are building. πŸ’™

Had your first MenB vaccination 4 weeks ago? It's time to book your second dose.

MenB vaccination is two doses, given at least 28 days apart. Getting both doses helps complete your protection against meningococcal group B (MenB) disease.

πŸ’‰ A quick clarification about NHS flu vaccinations

We have recently been made aware of some confusion around whether having your flu vaccination at a community pharmacy means you have to pay.

So, we wanted to clear this up:

If you are eligible for an NHS flu vaccination, you can receive it FREE of charge at a participating community pharmacy, just as you can through your GP surgery.

You have a choice about where you receive your vaccination!

At Day Lewis Pharmacy Lower Earley, we will be offering NHS flu vaccinations this season, alongside NHS COVID vaccinations for eligible patients.

And if sitting in a busy waiting room full of people is not your idea of fun, our vaccinations are carried out privately in a consultation room, giving you a calm and confidential environment.

Thank you to everyone who has already chosen to book with us! If you already have an appointment, there is nothing further you need to do - we look forward to welcoming you.

Whilst we will be offering walk-in vaccination opportunities throughout the season, booking ahead secures your vaccine and appointment slot. If you have not booked yet, we highly encourage you to do so.

You can book by contacting or visiting our pharmacy, or through the NHS website.

Our aim is simple: make vaccination more accessible, give patients greater choice and help protect our community this winter. πŸ’™

If you are unsure whether you are eligible, speak to our team and we will be more than happy to help. 😊

Some familiar faces are just too good to leave behind πŸ‘€πŸ’™.

A big welcome to Malaika, who some of you may already recognise from my previous days!

It is genuinely brilliant to be working together again, and I am very excited to have her joining the team here at Day Lewis Pharmacy Lower Earley.

And while we are welcoming one familiar face, we're also saying goodbye to another brilliant member of the team.

Tara has now left us to start university and begin her journey towards becoming a pharmacist herself (and ultimately take our pharmacist' position!) πŸŽ“πŸ’Š

She has been fantastic during her time with us and leaves with nothing but our very best wishes. We are sure she'll absolutely smash it - and hopefully this isn't the last we see of her!

So, good luck Tara... and welcome to the team, Malaika! πŸ‘

Good luck to everyone getting their A-Level results today! πŸŽ“πŸ€žWhatever the outcome, plenty to be proud of! πŸ’™
