I recently had the chance to test the AI Aromatherapy Assistant on a website, and I was genuinely impressed.

AI can quickly provide essential oil information, safety guidance, and blending suggestions. It’s a wonderful tool, especially for those new to aromatherapy.

But aromatherapy is about more than information.

Two people may have the same symptoms, yet their experiences, needs, and stories can be completely different. An aromatherapist doesn’t just recommend oils—we listen, understand, and support the person behind the symptoms.

AI can analyse data.
Human beings create connection.

Technology may transform the way we work, but I believe healing will always have a human touch. 💕

🌿 When choosing an essential oil, do you pick the scent you love—or the one you can’t stand?

The scents you love may be giving you exactly what you need.

But the scents you dislike? They might be revealing something you’re not ready to see.

It’s a bit like relationships:
Some people find comfort in similarities.
Others grow through differences.

So instead of asking, “Which scent should I choose?” ask yourself:

✨ What does this scent make me feel?
✨ Why am I drawn to it?
✨ Why do I resist it?

Sometimes essential oils don’t give us answers—they help us discover ourselves.

When the Damask roses (Rosa damascena) bloom in my garden, I’m instantly reminded of Bulgaria’s Rose Valley. 🌹✨ Their fragrance is richest in the early morning, and no rose oil or extract can truly capture the magic of a flower in full bloom.

I always put these beautiful roses in a vase, letting their delicate perfume fill the house. Such a simple pleasure, yet it feels like pure luxury.

The Damask rose blooms only once a year, but its unforgettable fragrance stays with me all year long. As an aromatherapist, I’m grateful to witness these beautiful moments right in my own garden. 💖

One of the questions I’m asked most often is whether all citrus essential oils are photosensitive.

When I first started studying aromatherapy over 10 years ago, I was taught that citrus oils should always be used with caution because of photosensitivity. I remember being quite nervous whenever I included them in a blend!

As I continued learning over the years, I realized the answer isn’t that simple. Not all citrus oils are photosensitive, and even among those that are, the level of risk varies.

For example:
🍊 Sweet Orange – Not photosensitive
🍊 Bitter Orange - Photosensitive (max. 1.25%)
🌿 Bergamot – Highly photosensitive (max. 0.4%)
🌿 Bergamot FCF – Not photosensitive
🍋 Lemon – Photosensitive (max. 2%)
🍋‍🟩 Lime distilled – Not photosensitive
🍋‍🟩 Lime expressed – Photosensitive (max. 0.7%)

Photosensitivity happens when certain essential oils on the skin react to UV exposure, which may cause redness, irritation, burning, or even sunburn-like reactions.

The key isn’t just whether an oil is photosensitive—it’s also about using the right dilution and understanding how to use it safely.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the years is that aromatherapy is always evolving. The more we learn, the more we realise that things aren’t always black and white.

📚 A certification isn’t the end of learning—it’s just the beginning. Staying curious and keeping our knowledge up to date helps us make safer, more informed choices for ourselves and our client.

A garden full of roses, a vase full of joy. 🌹❤️

From velvety reds to delicate pinks, sunny yellows to creamy whites, every bloom brings its own beauty and fragrance. Watching them all together reminds me why roses are my absolute favourite flower.

And if you ask me which rose deserves the crown… there’s no contest. 👑

The Damask rose is the champion! Its exquisite fragrance is simply unmatched — rich, timeless, and utterly captivating. No wonder it has been treasured for centuries.

Rosehip Oil: Gentle Repair from the Wild Roses🌹

Some of the most healing plants grow quietly around us. 🌿

Wild rose, Rosa canina (dog rose), may look simple, but its bright red rosehips give us the beautiful rosehip oil loved in aromatherapy skincare.

Rich in vitamins A, C, and essential fatty acids, rosehip oil helps nourish dry, dull, or sensitive skin without feeling heavy. 🤍

✨ Nourishes and softens skin
✨ Supports repair and glow
✨ Calms sensitivity and redness

Its deep orange color is similar to sea buckthorn oil, and it absorbs quickly into the skin. Just remember to buy small bottles, as it oxidises easily.
