Happy International Women's Day! 🌸

This year's theme is Give to Gain — and it got me thinking about my own journey.

After 35 years in the NHS, I made the leap into mental health training. Not just to build a business, but to pass on everything I'd learned about supporting people through difficult times.

Because here's what I truly believe: the skills, opportunities, and kindnesses we receive in life aren't meant to stop with us. They're meant to be shared.

Every course I deliver, every session I run — that's my way of giving something back. And honestly? The more I give, the more I gain. In connection, in purpose, in joy.

So today I want to ask you — how will YOU give to gain?

It doesn't have to be big. It could be as simple as:
💜 Encouraging a friend to go for that promotion
💜 Sharing a skill with someone who needs it
💜 Volunteering an hour of your time
💜 Just telling another woman — "I believe in you"

Birthdays, Growth & New Beginnings 🌼
It’s my birthday week 🎂
And I’ve found myself reflecting.
Birthdays used to feel like they were about getting older.
Now they feel like a moment to pause and notice growth.
This year has surprised me.
✨ I’ve grown my business, www.Wellbeing-Inspire.com
✨ I built my own website (something I never thought I’d say!)
✨ I said yes to learning new skills — even when they felt uncomfortable
With support from The Curious Lounge, I discovered I’m more capable than I realised. And yes…
I’ve also started a craft course at The Cowshed — and it’s reminded me how mindful creativity can be. When your hands are busy, your mind softens.
What’s struck me most is this:
The same things I teach in mental health and mindfulness training…
are the things I need to practise myself.
Being a beginner.
Stepping outside comfort zones.
Learning in community.
Making space for reflection.
Wellbeing isn’t something we arrive at.
It’s something we practise — gently, imperfectly, daily.
As I step into another year, I’m feeling grateful. And hopeful. 🌱

Today marks the first ever Mental Health First Aid England Day – a significant milestone in our journey towards better workplace mental health support. 🧠💚

Just as we wouldn’t hesitate to help someone with a physical injury, we need people trained to recognise and respond to mental health challenges with the same confidence and compassion.

World Mental Health Day 2025: Building Wellbeing into Our Workplaces
This week, I had the privilege of working with the team at Sobell Rhodes LLP for World Mental Health Day, delivering interactive sessions on anxiety management and mindfulness practices.
What struck me most was the team’s openness and engagement - and yes, a few peaceful snoozes during the relaxation exercises, which is always a good sign!
But here’s the thing: World Mental Health Day isn’t just about one day of awareness. It’s about creating workplaces where mental health conversations are normalised, where practical tools are accessible, and where wellbeing is woven into the culture every single day.
Mental health challenges affect 1 in 4 of us each year. When organisations invest in mental health support and create psychologically safe environments, everyone benefits - improved wellbeing, reduced stress, and stronger team connections.
The most effective workplace wellbeing strategies combine practical skill-building with cultural change. It’s not just about knowing the techniques; it’s about creating spaces where people feel safe to use them.

Men’s Mental Health Week is a powerful reminder that mental health matters for everyone — including men, who are often least likely to reach out for support.
Many men still face barriers when it comes to opening up about their struggles — whether it’s due to stigma, societal expectations, or lack of safe spaces to talk.
As a Mental Health First Aid trainer, I’ve seen the impact that simply listening without judgment can have. Creating space for these conversations — in our workplaces, communities, and families — is not just important, it’s essential.This week, let’s talk more. Let’s listen better. Let’s support the men in our lives — not just when they’re struggling, but every day.
