Repton School Repton School is a thriving co-educational independent day and boarding school for children aged 13 to 18 in the heart of England.

With around 650 pupils, the school is large enough to create a ‘buzz’ but small enough for all to flourish and to know one another. There are ten Boarding houses and all meals are taken within them, further reinforcing the family and caring atmosphere. Repton encourages a conscious equilibrium in all things, encouraging pupils to adopt a healthy balance between their studies, sport, activities of all kinds and rest, so that they can emerge as rounded, multi-faceted individuals. The sense of balance that every Reptonian – from the age of 3 to 18 - benefits from is shaped by our five pillars: Pastoral Care; Academia; Sport; Extra Curricular and our Spirit of Place. Our pupils achieve in the classroom because they never have to prioritise academic achievement over their love of theatre, their aptitude for sport or their passion for music. Repton School is a very special place to study. Founded in 1557, the co-educational school is an integral part of the village of Repton in South Derbyshire and is based around a 12th Century Augustinian Priory and its stunning Garth and Cloisters. With 1000 years of education history behind us, the traditional values of encouraging pupils to aim high whilst showing respect for all are still of utmost importance, however, Repton is undoubtedly modern in terms of practice and outlook.

Repton’s Girls’ 1st Netball Team comprises 11 players, each committing 3.5 hours a week to training alongside a demanding fixture schedule.

Competition for places in the 1st team is fierce, with selection reflecting the technical ability, consistency and competitive standard required to represent Repton at this level. Several players have also earned selection for Nottingham Forest and Loughborough Lightning.

Laura Turner, Head of Netball, identifies one of the squad’s greatest strengths as “their team spirit and ability to support one another on and off the court”, a quality that compliments their individual ability and collective performance.

These clips capture the team in action against Nottingham Forest in their final fixture before half-term.

Attention now turns to Round 3 of the SNS Cup following the break, ahead of the Regional Netball Tournament next term.

A huge congratulations to our U19 Netball team who have been crowned County Champions!
After a tense 7-5 opener against Trent, the team found their groove, with commanding wins over Ecclesbourne, Woodlands, Littleover and Lady Manners, before producing a nerveless performance to beat QEGS 12-8 in the final and finish the day unbeaten.
A special shout out goes to Ella Mae R for scooping the Player of the Tournament prize!
Huge congratulations to the whole squad on their teamwork, resilience and determination. They’ll be hoping to replicate their success in January’s Regional Round 🙌

Colour Run 2026!

On Sunday, pupils took part in our annual whole-school Colour Run, raising money to support Ottilie on her neuroblastoma journey.

This week, four pupils travelled to Derby Cathedral to perform a varied programme of music.

Aanya sang Bright Is the Ring of Words and played the Horn Concerto and Alla Caccia on the French horn. George performed a sonata and a nocturne on the piano, Irina played Vocalise and a Sonata on the cello, and Kitty sang Ridente la calma and O mio babbino caro.

The cathedral was filled with an attentive audience, who marvelled at the talent on display. Performing beyond the Beldam Hall gives our pupils valuable experience and helps build their confidence and composure on stage.

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Dale Willis to campus for a landmark series of sessions with our Sixth Form pupils, focusing on personal branding, CV-building, and navigating the exciting world of Degree Apprenticeships.

The highlight was bringing our community together for an insightful evening webinar featuring Dale alongside Old Reptonian Jacob Ingleston-Orme, who shared his first-hand experiences as a Degree Apprentice at Rolls-Royce. Hearing directly from someone living the journey offers a perspective that textbooks and presentations simply cannot match.

Introducing our Director of Swimming, Craig Prime!

Since joining Repton in 2022, Craig has helped guide the programme to its first National Arena Swimming League title and supported swimmers on their journey to international competition.

Now leading Repton School and Repton Swimming Club, Craig will build on that success, supporting every swimmer from our youngest age groups to our internationals.

Missed our Open Day at the weekend? Don’t worry - over the next few days, we’ll be taking you inside our classrooms in a mini-series that gives you a taste of everything Repton has to offer.

First up is Textiles, where our Upper Sixth pupils have been developing their design pieces and adding commentary to their sketchbooks, guided by our Head of Textiles. Experimenting with materials, colour, form and texture, pupils are fully immersed in the process of turning fabric into art.

Mamma Mia, here we go!!

This year we’re swapping the Derbyshire countryside for sun-bleached Greek villas in our production of Mamma Mia!

The rights to the musical were only released in September, making Repton one of the first schools in the country to stage this family favourite.

For some of our Upper Sixth, this will be their last production at Repton in the 400 Hall Theatre - time really is slipping through our fingers.

Dungarees at the ready, auditions will be held soon.

See you in 2027.
