Searching for a nail polish that helps strengthen and protect your nails whilst also looking fabulous?

We’d recommend Dr Remedy’s nail polish!

More than just colour, each polish helps improve your nail’s quality with the polish’s formulas featuring a restorative blend of biotin, tea tree oil, antifungal garlic bulb extract, lavender, wheat protein and antioxidant vitamins.

We use it ourselves here at Healthy Feet as well as on our patients to keep their nails looking beautiful, and we’d say it’s the perfect gift for your own nails, or even someone else’s 💕

If yourself or a loved one is living with diabetes, this one's important 💙

Diabetes can cause a condition called neuropathy, where the nerves in your feet become damaged over time, reducing sensation. This means that blisters, corns or ulcers can develop without you even feeling them, and when things go unnoticed, small problems can quickly become bigger ones.

Here's what to keep an eye on:
• Blisters or sores that appear without an obvious cause
• Corns or hard skin that are growing or changing
• Any cuts or wounds that are slow to heal
• Redness, swelling or changes in skin temperature

The good news? Catching these things early makes a huge difference. A regular foot check means nothing gets missed and you can stay one step ahead (pardon the pun!) 😅

If you or someone you care for is living with diabetes, please don't put off getting your feet checked. I'm here to help, and it really could make all the difference.

Love your trainers? Your feet might not feel the same way 😅

Spending long hours in trainers creates the warm, damp conditions that athlete's foot loves. If you've noticed any itching, redness, flaking or a burning sensation between your toes, it could be exactly that!

A few simple habits can help:
• Let your trainers air out between wears
• Change your socks at least daily; moisture-wicking socks are a game changer!
• Dry your feet thoroughly after washing, especially between those toes
• Avoid walking barefoot in communal areas like changing rooms or poolsides

Athlete's foot is common and nothing to be embarrassed about, but it is worth treating as it won't always clear up on its own.

If it's been hanging around or you're not sure what you're dealing with, get in touch, I'm happy to help!

It's ! And honestly, your feet deserve a little moment in the spotlight.

They carry you everywhere, through long days, muddy walks, school runs and everything in between! Yet, they're often the last thing we think about looking after.

This week is all about changing that! Here are a few things worth keeping in mind:

👟 Footwear matters more than you think. Ill-fitting shoes can cause real damage over time. Your feet will thank you for a proper fit!

🩺 Don't ignore the niggles!! Persistent pain, ingrown nails, corns or skin changes aren't just part of life. A Foot Health Practitioner can assess, treat and advise you on what's going on.

🩸 Especially if you have diabetes - routine foot checks are so important in helping to prevent serious complications. Please don't skip them!

I'm out in the community every day helping people get back on their feet (literally! 😄). Whether it's a long-standing issue or something you've just been putting off, now is the perfect time to book in.

Get in touch and let's get your feet feeling their best!

I'll be honest… I've seen some interesting nail cutting techniques from patients recently and it got me thinking, trimming your nails sounds simple, but there's definitely a right way to do it. So here's a little reminder!

First things first, soften before you snip! ✂️ The best time to trim your nails is straight after a bath or shower. Softened nails are so much easier to cut and far less likely to split or snag.

Ensure you cut your toenails straight across and resist the urge to round the corners! Curved cuts are one of the most common causes of ingrown nails and trust me, you want to avoid those! 😬 A gentle file afterwards will smooth any rough edges and stop them catching on socks or bedding.

Small habits, big difference. And if you're ever unsure or struggling to manage your nails yourself, that's exactly what I'm here for! Get in touch and I'll take care of it for you.
