Our healing hub is a pavilion which is fully embraced by the most glorious maple 🍁 tree. The perfect guardian and protector for the work we do here at Knowing 💫
Here are some bits of mythology about the mighty Maple … ❤️
💫Protection, Abundance, Longevity, Wisdom, Transformation, Compassion.

In UK and Irish folklore, the maple tree (specifically the Field Maple) is revered as a powerful guardian against evil spirits, witches, and bad luck. Often linked to wisdom, healing, and personal resilience, it was traditionally used in protective rituals for children and as a way to ward off unwelcome forces.

Protection Against Evil: Folklore suggests that hanging maple branches over doorways or windows prevents evil spirits and witches from entering the home.
Protection of Children: It was believed that passing a child through the branches of a maple tree—or a specifically split maple—would grant them a long life and protect them from being bewitched.
Warding Off Bad Luck: In many European traditions, including in the UK, maples were associated with protecting against bad luck and evil spells.
Symbolism in Celtic Culture: The tree was viewed as a sacred symbol of wisdom, inspiration, and a doorway to other realms, often used by poets and storytellers to connect with creative powers.
Hardwood and Practical Magic: Due to its very hard and durable wood, it was used to make wands or protective charms, often considered a tree that wards off negative influences.
Folklore of Protection: Beyond witchcraft, it was believed that the tree could ward off pests, such as bats, which were considered bad luck.
Maple is considered a “moon plant” associated with balancing energies and a gentle, nurturing nature.
They were considered a powerful, protective force against witches and evil spirits, with branches often hung over doors, similar to rowan, to keep evil at bay.
Wisdom and Inspiration: Celtic tradition often views the Maple as a symbol of inspiration, aiding poets and storytellers in connecting with the divine.
🥰
How incredible, and such an honour to have this wise guardian holding the space of our hub ☺️❤️💫🍁

Sowa Rigpa is an ancient holistic medicine system and it has been successfully practised for over 2,500 years in Tibet, Mongolia, Buddhist regions of Russia and Central Asia, and the Himalayan kingdoms of Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Ladakh and Northern India.

It treats the patient as a whole, bringing all systems back into balance using herbs and minerals in pill or powder form.

It’s based on the premise that if our bodies go out of balance it causes disease and uses various techniques, including special massage and herbs to coax them back to balance.
