Here at weavers we are constantly reviewing and assessing our appointment booking system. As part of this we log all missed appointments for both our GPs and our nursing staff.

Between 1st January and the 30th June 956 appointments were missed and therefore wasted.

In June 147 appointments were not attended.

While we realise that there can be many reasons for patients not attending appointments we would politely ask that if you cannot attend that you ring to inform the surgery in good time so we can offer that appointment to another patient. Appointments are a precious resource and we want to ensure that all our appointments are well used. thank you for your ongoing support in this matter.

We have been informed by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust that staff working in the blood sciences departments at Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital will be taking part in industrial action on the following dates:

15 to 19 June - 22 to 26 June - 29 June to 3 July - 6 to 10 July

Unfortunately, this means the laboratories at both hospitals will have a reduced capacity, which will lead to longer waiting times for patients to receive results of blood tests.

We appreciate this may be frustrating, but we would politely ask patients not to contact the practice to chase up the results of blood tests, as we will be unable to make things happen any quicker.

Thank you to all patients for your continued support and understanding.

Anyone prescribed tirzepatides will also be referred to the Healthier You: Behavioural Support for Obesity Programme. Engagement with the programme is required to continue receiving prescriptions.
