“By the third retention I finally relaxed into it…”
One of the most powerful parts of breathwork is what happens when we meet the discomfort instead of running from it.
Claire shared how the breath retentions felt challenging at first, but by the third round something shifted: the body softened, the mind relaxed, and she was able to surrender deeper into the experience.
This is because the fear of holding the breath is deeply wired into the reptilian part of the brain (the brain stem) which is responsible for survival and automatic fear responses.
Through conscious breathwork, we begin reconditioning that response.
Instead of reacting from fear, panic, and limitation… we train the nervous system to remain calm, present, and powerful under pressure.
That shift carries into everyday life.
You become less controlled by stress.
Less reactive.
More commanding in your energy, your emotions, and your decisions.
Before the breathwork we also moved through shaking and ecstatic dance which is a huge part of the process.
Shaking helps stimulate and clear the lymphatic system, releasing stagnant energy and tension stored within the body so we can enter the breathwork feeling lighter, freer, and more open.
This is not just relaxation.
This is nervous system rewiring. 🔥
