The Rochdale Occupational Health Service Ltd (ROHS), registered Charity No: 222649, was established in 1963 with the aid of a grant from the Nuffield Foundation. The aims and objectives were to provide occupational health services for workers in Rochdale and surrounding districts in the style of a co-operative - sharing health care services and facilities provided by nursing and medical staff, pro
viding regular contact for the benefit of workers in a wide range of industries, at a reasonable cost to the employer. ROHS has grown steadily and now, nearly 50 years later, has matured with a wealth of experience gained over those years. The present qualified professional staff work closely with member companies to provide occupational health and safety expertise, and their knowledge contributes to each company establishing safe working practices and a safe working environment for the company’s employees within the guidelines of numerous regulations.
