Never had ear wax removal before?

Here’s what you can expect when I come to your home.

First, I’ll talk to you about the problems you’ve been experiencing and check inside your ears using an otoscope, which is a small light that allows me to see the ear canal.

I’ll explain what I can see and whether ear wax removal is appropriate.

If treatment is needed, I’ll talk you through the process as I go so you know what’s happening throughout your appointment.

Once we’ve finished, I can check your ears again and provide any appropriate aftercare advice.

There’s no waiting room and no travelling to a clinic. I bring everything needed for your appointment to you.

Sometimes you don’t realise just how much ear wax has built up until it’s removed.

This was some of the hard wax removed from one ear during a recent appointment, with a 20p coin alongside it to show the size.

Hard, impacted wax can be difficult to manage yourself, and trying to remove it at home can sometimes push it further into the ear.

If your ears are feeling blocked, your hearing seems muffled or you’re finding yourself turning the TV up more than usual, it could be worth having them checked.

How do you know if you actually need ear wax removal?

Ear wax is completely normal and, in most cases, doesn’t need to be removed. It becomes a problem when it builds up and starts causing symptoms.

You might notice:

• You have ringing or buzzing in your ear

The lovely weather recently has made being out and about for appointments even nicer.

This photo was taken down at Gillingham Pier, another lovely spot I get to pass while travelling between home visits.

One of the things I enjoy about working across such a wide area is discovering little places where you can stop and enjoy the sunshine. We have some really lovely spots around Medway when the weather is on our side.

I’m regularly out and about across Gillingham, Rainham, Chatham, Rochester, Strood and further afield, bringing ear wax removal directly to people in their own homes.

A peaceful stop near Teston Lock during a visit this week

Not a bad view for a home visit journey.
