This weekend has been one of the most profound experiences of my professional life.

For years, I have pushed myself outside of my comfort zone, continuously striving to learn more, understand more, and be better for the patients who place their trust in me. The pursuit of excellence in aesthetics should never stand still, and neither should we.

Being part of this cadaver course in Edinburgh with has reinforced exactly why that commitment matters. To study anatomy in this way deepens your understanding and sharpens your clinical judgement beyond measure.

What I wasn’t expecting was how much this experience would affect me personally.

For a long time, I wondered whether I would ever truly find my people within this industry. This weekend, I did. I met clinicians whose passion for education, patient safety, and raising standards mirrors my own. People who challenge, inspire, and support one another without ego. I cannot thank every single one of you enough for your generosity, your encouragement, and the space you created for learning .julie Jury, Sue & Kenny ✨

Plus all the other clinicians I met, you’re all amazing 🫶🏼

I leave this experience with a deeper respect for the complexity of the human body, an even greater appreciation for lifelong learning, and immense gratitude for those who have shared this journey with me. The donors extraordinary gift to medical education provides an opportunity for clinicians to gain a deeper appreciation of anatomy, helping to improve practice and ultimately enhance patient care. It was a privilege and an honour.

I don’t think this is something I will ever truly get over.

And perhaps that’s exactly as it should be.
