Gazel provides a day service for adults with learning disabilities based at St. Lukes Place, Rochford.

Our aim is to promote and support independence, choice and social inclusion through a wide range of engaging learning and development activities within a supportive, safe and stimulating environment. Additionally, we believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to achieve success through education. Gazel is an accredited education provider and our programmes are individually tailored and

are taught in a creative and imaginative way. Through our distinctive approach we encourage and develop our Clients to be the very best they can be – giving them the confidence to be themselves and drawing out their incredible abilities.

Putting the finishing touches today to our milestone 90th Birthday booklet 📒

Our group included special personal messages 🔖 and enjoyed looking back through key historical moments from 1936 to the present day 🤓

A fantastic effort by all those involved 🤩🥳

This week, we have been planning and creating our own unique ‘Road to 90’ booklet for a very special friend and loyal supporter of Gazel. 👌👏

Everyone has enjoyed using the internet and other resources to select key historical events from the person’s birth year to the present day. Teamwork has helped us make good progress, and we look forward to sharing the finished pages next week.

Today our group looked at vintage cinemas around Essex 🎞️ finding out their history and which ones are still open today for their communities 🎥

They then took part in a cinema themed escape room🕵️ solving puzzles and finding numbers to crack the code 🔑🍿🎬

Our group have made a brilliant centre display for World Photography Day 🌏📷 based on the 2026 theme ‘home’ 🏠

They thought about the different things that they like about the areas they live in and created a lovely photo poster 🌳🎢🌊🤩

A lovely day spent in our outside space 😎 The group enjoyed playing some games and quizzes together 🎲🎱 before cooling down with an ice cream🍦😋

Today our group found out about this evening’s solar eclipse ☀️🌙🌎 They looked at videos from the previous eclipse in 1999 🕶️ and had a go at making their own pinhole cameras to view the eclipse safely 📌📷

Exploring the history behind the lighthouse in the UK 🇬🇧 and around the world 🌍

Lots of interactive challenges 🌊 draw alongs ✍🏻 and creating some brilliant display pictures for the centre ⭐️
