If your scales are reading higher in this heatwave, don't panic, It's not fat gain.

In hot weather your body naturally holds onto more fluid to help regulate temperature and maintain hydration.

Add in more sweating, changes in electrolyte balance, more carbohydrates, a few drinks, more activity, exercise related inflammation ...and the scale can jump surprisingly quickly.

To gain 1kg of body fat overnight would require thousands of calories above your normal intake.
So if the scale is up after a hot day, a BBQ, a meal out or a busy weekend, don't assume you've undone all your hard work.

Look at the trend, not the day.

Hydrate, keep doing the basics well, and give your body a few days to settle.
The scale measures weight, It doesn't measure progress.

I know you’re busy. Yard, work, life… you’re already exhausted.
But a couple of hours a week will change how you ride completely.
Stronger rider = better horse. Simple.

Price Update

From 1st April 2026, my 1:1 personal training rate will be increasing to £50 per session for clients training once per week.

For those training two or more times per week, the rate will remain at £45 per session.

I’ve kept my pricing steady for a long time, but with continued professional development, rising costs, and growing demand, it’s time to align my rates with the level of service I provide.

I’m incredibly grateful for the loyalty and trust from all of my clients and I’m looking forward to continuing to support you. ❤️❤️

Feeling very grateful today. Thank you to all of my clients, especially those who’ve been with me for years for your loyalty, trust and support.

I honestly have the best clients. You inspire me daily with your effort, honesty, humour, and determination, and I never take that for granted.

It's not just the calories you have to worry about....

You can eat clean, train hard, and hit every macro,
but if alcohol is still a regular drink in your week, your body’s not in fat burning mode.

When you drink, your liver has one priority, clear the alcohol.
That means it pauses everything else, fat burning, hormone balance, detox pathways… all on hold while it cleans up the mess.

So if you’re wondering why progress feels slower after “just a few glasses,” that’s your answer. It’s not that your plan isn’t working, it’s that your body’s busy doing damage control.

Ask yourself, Do I want this drink more than I want that result?
Sometimes the most powerful progress move is the one you don’t pour.
