In January 2022, I remember smiling in utter disbelief that I had landed such an amazing, worthwhile role. Back then, major imposter syndrome had me telling myself, "They won't think you're good enough to help all of those children." Looking back, my inner critic was completely wrong.
Fast forward four and a half years, and today I am smiling for a very different reason on my final day at this dream job. I am smiling because I have never felt so valued, loved, and appreciated. That warmth hasn't just come from the wonderful children I’ve had the privilege to support and nurture, or the incredible teachers I’ve worked alongside, but also from the parents. It has been a true honor to walk beside these families, guiding them through moments of vulnerability when they were doing their best for their children but didn't know where to turn. I have never felt so deeply connected to a community.
This wasn’t just a job to me, it was a huge part of my life.
Through over 1,200 client hours supporting these brilliant children, I have grown immensely, not just professionally, but personally. I truly learned as much from them as they did from me.
This school even became a special place for my own family, with both my child and my dog attending! I feel incredibly privileged to have spent the last few years as part of such a fantastic community.
Now, I take this abundance of knowledge, experience, and insight into my next chapter, where I look forward to supporting many more young people in my private practice.
