I must admit that I underestimated how hard running my own business would be.

For one thing, it’s a relentless round of putting yourself out there on social media to get known (something that doesn’t always come easily to me) and it kinda goes against why I stepped away from corporate life in the first place.

But I accept it’s a part of todays world. It’s not a guarantee though to get bookings. And if I’m honest, I’m struggling a bit. This week I have no clients booked in. Nada!

Yet, I’ve invested in a beautiful bespoke treatment room set in the peaceful Cambridgeshire countryside.

I have over 25 years of holistic experience, have treated celebrity clients and have invested thousands in my training so I can be the best I can be.

Something I never do is book back-to-back treatments either - I always want to have plenty of time for talking, releasing and helping you reintegrate after the treatment.

My current offering is Reiki, facial and body massage, guided meditation and mini sound baths. 121 meditation and mindfulness courses, and oracle cards.

I’ve had to dig deep and ask what is it that I’ve missed?

Is it my marketing? The location? Or are there treatments and other alternative/complementary therapies that would be way more enticing?

I’m curious to know what you guys think. What would make the difference for you? What do you want support with?

I genuinely mean that because I want my wellness room to be a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental, relaxing and comforting space for women. I want it to be a place where you can balance your mind, body and soul.

Please help me make this work for you. I promise I will always be the best I can be for you. Tell me how I make this even better and what you need? Feel free to comment below

If you're one of the millions that's experiencing depression ( and lets face it, we all have at some point), stop for a moment and think about how often you're experiencing joy?

The reason I'm asking is that joy can be a powerful antidote to depression. I don't mean the type where you're walking all round all day with a cheesy grin blurting out false positivity.

Joy isn’t about pretending everything is perfect.

It’s not about ignoring difficult emotions or forcing yourself to be positive when you’re struggling.

But what I'm talking about are the small moments of joy that you can incorporate into your day to lift your mood.

Not because it magically makes problems disappear, but because it gently reminds us that there is still light alongside the darkness.

Joy lives in the small moments as well as the big moments. It could be:

☀️ Feeling the warmth of the sun on your face
😀 Meeting up with a friend
🐦 Listening to birdsong in the morning
☕ Savouring your favourite drink
🎶 Singing or listening to music, concerts & festivals
🌸 Noticing a flower in bloom
💛 Sharing a smile with someone
🌅 A beautiful view
🚲 Going for a bike ride
📚 Reading a good book
🕺 Dancing to the 70s, 80s, 90s or noughties
🚶 Walking in nature
🌊 Visiting the seaside
🛀 Treating yourself to a bubbly bath
✨ Toasting marshmallows and watching the stars

These moments may seem insignificant, but they help bring us back into the present moment and reconnect us with life.

If you’re feeling low, don’t put pressure on yourself to find happiness. Instead, simply ask:

“What is one small thing that could bring me a moment of joy today?”

Then allow yourself to fully experience it.

Sometimes healing doesn’t begin with a huge breakthrough. Sometimes it begins with a single moment of joy, followed by another, and another.

There's also nothing wrong with scheduling some joy in for yourself either!

Tell me, what’s one small thing that brings you joy?

Unfortunately I witnessed a squirrel being hit by a car recently. The car drove on but unbeknown to them the squirrel hadn't died and he/she crawled to the side of the road. Being an animal lover, I felt compelled to stop to see if I could help it in someway. I pulled over and walked over to the squirrel. As I did it raised its head, looked me in the eye and reached its paws out towards me. In that moment, something strange happened. It may sound a bit out there, a bit woo woo, but I felt the connection between us. I felt as if there was no separation between my self and that squirrel.

I raced back to the car to try and see if I had a blanket or hoody to pick it up in. When I got back a minute later, the squirrel had sadly passed. I gently moved it from the road and lay it under a tree. Then I continued my journey in quiet contemplation.

Later I found out that this squirrel had been fed by several local people and that they too felt sad on hearing of its untimely demise.

I've thought about that squirrel several times since. Its strange how certain unexpected moments can be so powerful. It really reminded me how interconnected we are with nature and the universe around us. Too often now, we go about life in isolation, dissociated from ourselves, other people and the rest of the world. Yet, we're all components of an interwoven system and ultimately of something greater than any of us understand.

I believe that's why so many of us feel stressed and disconnected nowadays. The primeval part of our brain still remembers the time when we lived side by side with other animals, when we woke with the sun and slept under the moon, when we foraged for food and when we rested in the evening watching the embers of a fire in community and connection.

That disconnection to nature is not only making us sick but when we hurt animals, cut down trees, dig up the countryside and pollute the atmosphere, we're ultimately hurting ourselves.

This week, take some time to reconnect with nature. Have a morning coffee outside, walk barefoot on your grass, take a walk in the countryside, watch the birds on your lawn, work on your garden and see how you feel afterwards.

Many of my clients report that they still feel exhausted after a night of sleep. In this excerpt Dr Chatterjee explains 2 crucial factors that can help with promoting deeper, more restful sleep.

Let's be honest. Many of us are not all that present in our own life. Instead, we're racing through life on autopilot. But we're missing the point. Life is for living, not existing, not rushing to get to somewhere.

A river doesn't hurry but it still finds its way to the ocean.

Mindfulness is often portrayed as something complicated—hours of meditation, silent retreats, or clearing your mind completely.

But mindfulness can be much simpler than that. It's about slowing down enough to notice.

It’s about putting your phone away so you can take a moment to really taste your morning coffee instead of drinking it on autopilot.

It’s noticing the warmth of the sun on your skin, the sound of birds singing, or the feeling of your feet touching the ground as you walk.

It’s pausing for a few seconds to take a conscious breath before responding to a stressful situation.

Mindfulness isn’t about adding another task to your to-do list. It’s about becoming more aware of the life that is already happening around you and within you.

The present moment is where your life unfolds. The more often you return to it, the more peace, clarity and connection you may discover.

What’s one simple way you bring yourself back to the present moment?

So many women that I see tell me that they don't feel like themselves anymore but can't quite put a finger on what's caused that. All they know is that they feel stressed and anxious.

The truth is that there probably isn't one single cause. It can be a whole combination of factors.

Work pressures. Motherhood. Menopause. Nervous System Burnout. Loss of Identity. Ageing. Chronic Illness. Just a few of the infinite possibilities.

But you are still in there.....just underneath a lot of layers (and I mean a lot). The mistake that many women make is that they feel they need to make huge changes to their lifestyle. And go all or nothing. And yes sometimes big changes are important and necessary. But that's also not always possible.

Smaller, more achievable habit changes can also have a huge impact on your wellbeing. Mindfulness, Meditation and Journal therapy can create a powerful ripple effect throughout your entire life, and sustainable change might be much simpler than you think.
