🔋Neurodivergent burnout is real🔋
It is more than simply feeling tired.
Burnout can include:
• Increased anxiety
• Difficulty concentrating
• Emotional overwhelm or shutdowns
• Sensory overload
• Reduced capacity or motivation
• Irritability or exhaustion
Many autistic and ADHD individuals experience burnout after long periods of masking or trying to cope in environments that do not meet their needs.
Recovery often requires:
🌿 Rest
🌿 Reduced demands
🌿 Sensory support and regulation strategies
🌿 Understanding and validation
🌿 Appropriate support
