I'm officially signing off for 2025! 🎉

This has been the most incredible year, I've seen such growth in my business and treated some truly amazing people. 😘

We're well into the swing of long days and (mostly) warm weather, School holidays are upon us and everyone is on the go from dawn until dusk!

With all this extra activity comes extra risk of sports injuries as shown in this post.

Excited to be going on a course in a couple of weeks time to learn a new modality that I can utilise in some of my treatments!

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to improve circulation and relieve tension. The scraping is done on oiled bare skin, with a special tool usually made of Jade or horn, but often metal or ceramic tools are used depending on the strength of the treatment required.

A point I had to remind myself of lately after a really busy week of treatments.

I give my everything to those who come to see me, but had forgotten to also take care of myself, not looking after my posture, running over time, not taking breaks or drinking enough water.

It hit me later that day and apart from feeling physically exhausted, my neck seized, my back ached, my hands shook, I had really messed myself up!

Luckily for me I was able to get to see my fabulous colleague, Juliet, at short notice, who was able to get me back on track.

A sedate weekend, a long bath, gentle stretches and some lovely nutritious food helped me recover.

This definitely served as a reminder that taking time for yourself isn't a luxury or selfish, it's essential!

After a wonderfully busy start to the year, it's time for a little R&R before delving into (hopefully) Spring and all the energy and vibrancy it brings!

Thought I'd share this one out again for those of you that maybe haven't moved much over Christmas & New Year and are now feeling stiff and tense back at work!

This is a great little Soft Tissue Release you can do yourself to help ease any tightness through the tops of our shoulders and neck.

Relief through the upper traps can also help forestall headaches as these muscles attach to the base of our skull and can cause extra tension there too.
