I'm back!

In December 2021 I decided to take a sabbatical from homeopathy.

At the time I was working my socks off trying to help everyone who wanted homeopathic treatment, and there just weren't enough hours in the week.

Something had to give, and I didn't want it to be my health, so I took a break.

My fellow amazing homeopaths offered to take on my clients whilst I stepped back for a while - I hope that those of you who have taken up this option have had the very best of experience with the homeopath I recommended for you?

And if you'd like to continue with them, I'm be delighted for you to do so. Homeopathy works best when you as a patient feel supported and comfortable with your homeopath.

Note - I'm no longer seeing patients at Therapies in Wootton Fields. All my appointments now are via zoom.

My appointment fees are:
£95 for a first appointment
£65 for a follow-up appointment.

The appointment fee includes the cost of any remedies that I prescribe for you.

We’re having some work done to our garden at the moment. It’s a pretty major project, and so each day we have a van on our drive, and a workman in the garden.

Also in our garden is the landscaper’s cocker spaniel Poppy, who sits on the digger and tries to nibble any biscuits that I bring out with the tea.

The radio’s playing, the dog’s dozing, it’s a pretty happy scene!

At 3:00 every day the landscaper takes an hour off to go and pick his kids up from school. And during half term he took time off to spend time with his family too.

The job will take about 1 week longer than it otherwise would, but we don’t mind at all.

I LOVE it that the guy working on my garden has a great work-life balance.

He takes pride in his work and is excellent at what he does, and he’s happy. And so are we.

He’s designed his world to suit him, and that’s fantastic in my opinion!

What? There are different types of homeopathy?

Yep

You may have heard of classical homeopathy. And practical homeopathy. Perhaps you have some idea of the difference?

But what about isopathy? And tautopathy? And flower remedies – are they homeopathy too?

Here’s a brief description of each:

Classical homeopathy – a single remedy is given that matches the patient in depth, in as many ways as possible, covering physical, mental and emotional symptoms. A well matched totality remedy can help on lots of levels.

Practical homeopathy – a single remedy may be given, but a prescription may also include combinations of different remedies that work together to treat a symptom. Some pharmacies will sell standard combinations, but a practical homeopath will make a combination personalised to their client for the best results.

Isopathy – a remedy is given that is made from the exact substance that caused the symptoms. There have been some interesting studies done using isopathy to treat plants growing in toxic soil. Fields that have been poisoned by arsenic-rich water have been made more fertile again by treating the soil with a remedy made from tiny amounts of arsenic – fascinating, hey?

Tautopathy – a bit like isopathy, but specifically aimed at using remedies made from conventional medicines where a person has had side effects from taking that medicine. Just like isopathy, the toxin that caused the symptom is given back in tiny doses in remedy form.

Flower remedies – these aren’t homeopathy exactly, but are often used in the same way as homeopathic remedies, based more on emotional symptoms than physical ones. There are dedicated flower remedy practitioners, and many homeopaths use flower remedies alongside homeopathic remedies when treating a person.

Human Chemistry homeopathy – remedies are chosen based on imbalances in hormones, neurotransmitters and other substances in the body. Often blood test results are used to help inform the choice of remedies.

Many homeopaths are skilled in multiple methods, but some specialise in just one.
