🌿 Menopause Support Walks on Cannock Chase 🌿
Join us this June for two supportive CBT therapy for menopause sessions with CBT therapist Jodie from atala, with the walk led by Sharon from Walx on The Chase.
📍 Cannock Chase
🗓 Saturday 13th June & Saturday 20th June
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
💷 Pilot project reduced rate: £10 per session
👥 Limited to 12 places per walk
Each session will explore a different aspect of menopause:
✨ 13th June – Mental health symptoms
✨ 20th June – Physical health symptoms
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is NICE-recommended for supporting menopause symptoms and can help women manage anxiety, low mood, stress, overwhelm, sleep difficulties, hot flushes, confidence changes and more. CBT offers practical tools and coping strategies to better understand and manage the emotional and physical changes that can happen during menopause.
These sessions combine the benefits of CBT with gentle walking in nature, alongside the wellbeing boost that comes from movement, fresh air and connecting with others. Research shows that walking, social connection and spending time outdoors can all positively support menopause symptoms, helping to reduce stress, improve mood, increase energy levels, support sleep and build confidence and resilience.
WALX on The Chase is part of the national WALX group and promote the use of walking with poles to encourage an all over body workout through Total Body Walking, based on Nordic Walking. There will also be an opportunity to try walking with poles. Total Body Walking can help improve posture, mobility, strength, and fitness while reducing pressure on joints. No previous experience is needed, and the walk will be gentle and supportive for all abilities.
