Some of the best advice I can give if you want to get into tattooing… keep showing up. 👊🏼

Back when I was trying to get into the industry, most tattooists wouldn’t just take on anyone. You had to earn trust, get to know people, hang around the studio and prove how much you wanted it.

It wasn’t about sending one message and waiting for a reply, it was about persistence. Keep turning up, keep learning, keep pestering. That’s how a lot of us got our foot in the door.

Breaking into tattooing isn’t just about drawing, it’s about showing up.

Go into studios, introduce yourself, make connections, hang around, learn the environment and become part of it. Most opportunities come from people getting to know you before they ever offer you a chance.

Getting your foot in the door takes time, patience and consistency… but if you genuinely want it, keep showing up.

Cheap isn’t always cheerful when it comes to tattoos — sometimes it costs you more in the long run.

Do yourself a favour:
• Check healed work (not just fresh tattoos)
• Look at consistency across their portfolio
• Read real reviews
• Don’t rush the decision

Take your time, check your artist, and make sure you’re putting your skin in the right hands.
