Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Fountains Media for a filming day focused on our Sprinter powered stair climber range, including the brand-new Sprinter Pro 500 with its AI-powered technology.

When the job is physically demanding, the solution shouldn’t just be “work harder.

Construction teams carry, lift, bend and twist thousands of times. Over time, those repetitive movements can place significant strain on the body.

So what happens when you look at the task differently?

We recently worked with Holcim to explore how exoskeleton technology could support employees carrying out repetitive manual handling tasks.

Rather than simply putting a product on and hoping for the best, our experts looked at how the work was actually being done. Assessing movement patterns, repetitive tasks and where support could make the biggest difference.

The result? A trail and full application of the HAPO Back exoskeleton, a with a member of the Holcim team using it during demanding concrete testing and manual handling activities.

His experience was clear: reduced lower-back strain, improved lifting technique and greater comfort throughout the working day.

For us, that’s what ergonomic technology should be about.

Not technology for technology’s sake.
Not a one-size-fits-all solution.
Understanding the person, understanding the task, and finding the right solution.

Back to basics. Because expertise is built on experience.

Our Stanley team recently got together for a refresher training day, getting hands-on with the equipment and safety technology we work with every day.

From getting hands-on with exoskeleton technology, to exploring the latest developments in forklift collision avoidance, seeing how Wear can transform manual handling tasks and getting practical and putting our powered stair climbers through their paces.

For our more office-based team, it was a chance to step away from the desk and get back to the equipment — understanding how each solution works in practice, the tasks it is designed to support and the difference the right technology can make to the people using it.

Because at Stanley, it’s not simply about supplying equipment. It’s about understanding the task, identifying the challenge and finding the right solution for the people, environment and way of working.

Another busy week at Stanley, visiting surgical teams across the UK.

👇 Here’s a look back at our visit to Gloucester Hospital NHS Trust, where we demonstrated a exoskeleton to the surgical team.

For surgeons, long procedures can mean hours spent standing in static or demanding positions. Over time, this can lead to fatigue, discomfort and unnecessary strain.

An exoskeleton can provide ergonomic support where it’s needed most — helping surgeons stay comfortable and focused throughout lengthy procedures.

Long procedures. Physical strain. A problem surgeons know all too well.

Standing for hours during surgery requires intense concentration — but the physical demands can be significant too.

✖️Long periods of standing.
✖️Static postures.
✖️Leaning and reaching.
✖️Neck, shoulder and back strain.

Over time, this physical fatigue can affect comfort, concentration and wellbeing.
So, what if surgeons could reduce some of that physical strain without changing the way they operate?
That's where exoskeleton technology is making a difference in the theatre.

We spoke to cardiothoracic surgery resident, Aamir Amin, who has experienced this first-hand, after conducting a year long study at Harefield Hospital.

His research into the use of upper body exoskeletons in cardiothoracic and transplant surgery is helping to build the clinical evidence base for exoskeleton support and how it can be integrated into surgical practice without compromising precision or control.

This work, carried out under the supervision of Mr Espeed Khoshbin, provides important clinical validation for the role of ergonomic support within surgery.
