βοΈβοΈ These last few weeks have been HOT! π₯π₯΅
With the summer holidays just around the corner, we finished the school term with a cookout. π It was also the perfect opportunity to reinforce an important message about fire safety, especially with so much dry vegetation around at the moment.
Before we lit the fire, we made sure we had everything in place to keep everyone safe:
π§ Cleared the area around the fire pit and dampened the ground with water. π§ Kept extra buckets of water close by, ready to use if needed. π§ Used our designated raised fire pit to help prevent the fire spreading to the ground. π§ Checked the wind direction to make sure sparks couldn't blow into dry grass or nearby vegetation. π§ Stayed with the fire at all times and never left it unattended. π§ Made sure the fire was completely out before leaving. The ashes and coals should be so cool and wet that you could safely touch them with your hand.
π₯ Remember: if the weather is hot, dry or windy, ask yourself whether you really need a fire at all.
If in doubt β don't light a fire! β€οΈπ₯
