The lead story in this week's St Ives Times & Echo is the award of major National Lottery funding for the Leach Pottery. The photographs are of the new signage at the Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve.
Inside the paper there's progress on the St Ives Theatre project, there are photographs from Lelant Village Produce Association's Annual Show and there are plans for affordable-led housing at Rose an Grouse.
There is a lot more local news, sport etc in the paper which is available from early afternoon on Thursdays at our High Street office at the rear of Boots Chemist, High Street, St Ives.
The St Ives Times & Echo, incorporating the Hayle Times, is also on sale at in most local stores and supermarkets or if you prefer a postal or digital copy call 01736 795813, email [email protected] or visit www.stivesnews.co.uk

We have our very first St Ives Repair Cafe coming to the Orchard's CORE building, supported by Treverbyn Community Trusts Mobile Repair Van.
Bring household items along to be repaired and feel free to call Nick 07547228244 to discuss your repair item beforehand.

We are aiming for this to be a monthly event and are calling out for people with repairing skills to come along and volunteer. See sign up details below.

A Repair Café is a free meeting place for people to come together to repair things, generally a monthly event in which a group of volunteers with differing skills set up shop, and people can come and have household items repaired, free of charge. People with repair skills in all kinds of fields are invited to come along to share their knowledge and invaluable practical skills are passed on.

Participants are given a chance to learn to fix their own broken devices and appliances and often learn how much fun repairing things can be. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job.

All Repair Cafés need handy volunteers to act as repair experts during the repair meetings who would like to share their skills with neighbours .
We are especially looking for people who are handy with:
- clothing/textiles
- electrical appliances
- bicycles
- furniture/wooden objects
Also looking for volunteers happy to act as host or hostess, providing everyone with coffee and tea and as a contact for both the repair experts and the visitors in the Repair Café.
Sign up as a volunteer on https://form.jotform.com/210221576570348 or email [email protected].
