Hair loss isn’t always caused by deficiency… sometimes it’s caused by too much. 👀

Over-supplementation of certain vitamins and minerals can actually trigger hair shedding, thinning, and scalp changes, especially when multiple “hair, skin & nails” products are combined together.

Hair follicles are incredibly sensitive to internal imbalances, and I’m seeing more patients unknowingly overloading their systems with stacked supplements, gummies, powders, and fortified drinks.

Healthy hair growth is about balance,not megadosing. That influencer that is always recommending hair supplements to you- really doesn’t understand hair biology.

Not a polished professional video by any means, but I thought I’d share this with you so you can see how I treat my own skin.

When it comes to most skin things with me, I’m trying to fit them in last minute or late at night. Obviously patients get to relax on the treatment bed and many fall asleep!

Is it painful?
We use super strength numbing cream so we can get to deep enough structures without hurting you. I find it feels like nails scratching your skin. It’s definitely less painful than an eye brow wax!

Does it take long?
45 minutes for the appointment time

The down time?
Nothing on the skin for 24 hours to keep it clean. You immediately go pink, this develops over hours as the numbing wears off. Redness generally gone by 24 hours.

Why we love it?
No heat or chemicals being put it the skin, the micro channels created in the skin trigger your skin healing cascade. The skin does all the work itself.

Who so suitable?

Sometimes we don’t do more, we do less.

This beautiful young lady came to clinic concerned about her lips. She had a number of lip filler treatments by other practitioners in the past (almost 3ml) and was left feeling self conscious about her side profile, as the lips just were not in balance and proportion with her delicate features. Her lips overwhelmed her naturally beautiful face, distracting from it rather than enhancing it.

Hair thinning and shedding in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond isn’t always a sign of a medical problem.

It’s a natural reaction to a stressful event or even child birth 3-6 months before (it will right itself over 6-9 months)

Sometimes you are just a “shedder”- if you haven’t noticed discrete bald patches, or the hair being thinner, this may not be a problem.

It is natural as hormone levels drop in the body.

However, if it is something that is ongoing at you are developing patches without hair, please speak to your doctor- you want to rule out nutritional deficiencies (especially iron, vitamin D and B12), thyroid issues, connective tissue disease, coeliac, medication side effects etc.

For most of us, taking a little better care of our scalp and hair is all that’s needed.

I’ll share some information that I’ve been learning at my university Trichology & Scalp Health course, would this be useful?
